Sanders’s scorched-earth campaign is a gift to Trump
Bernie Sanders is playing a dangerous game. If he and his campaign continue their scorched-earth attacks against the Democratic Party, they will succeed in only one thing: electing Donald Trump as president.
I say this as someone who shares much of Sanderss political philosophy; I, too, for example, see health care as a basic right. He has run a remarkable and historically significant campaign, pulling the party to the left and pumping it full of new progressive vigor. His crowds are almost as big as Trumps and perhaps even more enthusiastic. Most important, he has brought legions of young people into the political process.
But he hasnt won the nomination.
Hillary Clinton has an insurmountable lead in pledged delegates, earned by her performance in primaries and caucuses. In the aggregate, she leads Sanders by about 3 million votes. The will of the party is clear: More Democrats prefer Clinton over Sanders as their nominee.

(98 posts)Oh wait, it didn't hurt Obama in the polls at all. Hillary was still polling worse vs. Mccain despite her negative attacks. Hillary is suffering due to her own inherent weaknesses.

(101,400 posts)That's the difference; Bernie is increasingly blaming the party for 'cheating', which can turn away people from voting for Democrats altogether (and that's a fairly recent development). Hillary in 2008 just said she was a better candidate than Obama.

(1,825 posts)it is HILLARY WHO IS THE ONE PLAYING A DANGEROUS GAME.
And should she get indicted, the game becomes even more dangerous.

(1,917 posts)in the HRC camp with lies about his health reform policies.
It went downhill from there with Bill blocking polling places and the lies about Bernie's relationship with POC.
All because the HRC side can't justify the RW voting record of their candidate.
There is NO justification for David Brock. He is a Repub thru and thru.
He has run HRC's campaign just like Rove would.
If I wanted to vote for a Republican I'd vote for one with an R next to his/her name.
