Raw Story: The momentum story: How the Bernie Sanders crowd can still win
The media and the political class have called it Bernie Sanders has lost the Democratic Presidential nomination. They are flat wrong, and not for the first time.
Heres the real story: the Sanders campaign is changing the laws of political physics just like Trump did, only far more profoundly. (4,667 posts)if either Hillary of a Republican wins, the 3 trade deals and the finishing of WTO deals started two decades ago will mean that the Presidency/Congress/Senators will be mostly symbolic on economically relevant issues, with no real power.
Bernie is pretending that the WTO never happened more as a referendum on it. But we began a process which is almost finished signing away the right to have any more New Deals (and also our right to protect domestic markets) two decades ago during the Clinton Administration. The opening of the US market to globalisation is almost wrapped up. It will mean big changes.
Much of the paralysis has already happened on health care, as we can see.
the part which is beginning is the Mode IV provisions of FTAs - basically the globalized subcontracting part.

(39,171 posts)when you are depending on exponential growth. It will only work if Bernie brings a shit ton of new voters to the ballot box because that growth is not coming out of Hillary's coalition. So far Bernie has failed abysmally to attract new voters. Bernie made a huge mistake betting his candidacy on young voters - they are the fools gold that entrance some populist politician every election only to let them down time and time again.
