MH-17 Case Slips into Propaganda Fog - Consortium News/Robert Parry

https://consortiumnews.com/2015/07/09/mh-17-case-slips-into-propaganda-fog

Throughout the Ukraine crisis, propaganda and “information warfare” have overridden any honest presentation of reality – and the mystery around the MH-17 disaster has now slipped into that haze of charge and counter-charge. Many investigative journalists, including myself, have been rebuffed in repeated efforts to get verifiable proof about the case or even informational briefings.

In that sense, the MH-17 case stands as an outlier to the usual openness that surrounds inquiries into airline disasters. The Obama administration’s behavior has been particularly curious, with its rush to judgment five days after the July 17, 2014 shoot-down, citing sketchy social media posts to implicate the ethnic Russian rebels and indirectly the Russian government but then refusing requests for updates.

But why the later secrecy? If Director of National Intelligence James Clapper decided that unverified information about the shoot-down could be released five days after the event, why would his office then decide to keep the U.S. public in the dark as more definitive data became available? Over the past 11 months, the DNI’s office has offered no updates on the initial assessment, with a DNI spokeswoman even making the absurd claim that U.S. intelligence had made no refinements of its understanding about the tragedy since July 22, 2014.

I’m told that the reason for the DNI’s reversal from openness to secrecy was that U.S. intelligence analysts found no evidence that the Russian government had given the rebels sophisticated anti-aircraft missiles capable of downing an aircraft at 33,000 feet, the altitude of MH-17, and that an examination of U.S. satellite and electronic intelligence instead implicated extremists linked to Ukraine’s U.S.-backed regime, although not to Kiev’s political leadership.

I think our government is lying about Russia and the Russian-ethnic rebels shooting down the plane. I think the best guess at this point is that an extremist nazi group closely associated with the government that the U.S. installed in Ukraine shot down the passenger plane using a Ukraine SU-25 jetfighter that was supposed to shoot down Putin's plane (in the airspace at the time) not a passenger plane.

That explains several important puzzles.

WHY would the rebels shoot down a passenger plane? (Sure to get them in deep shit worldwide.) Answer, nobody intended to shoot down a passenger plane. The target was Putin's plane. And the targeters were the Ukrainian nazis, who failed to hit the right plane.

WHY would the U.S. not release its surveillance evidence, if they're so sure the rebels did it, with Russia's support? Why has this matter gone dark, after so many instant U.S. accusations?

There are many other puzzles that this article points out, but these are the two main ones.

I would also like to say that I don't trust the CIA one bit. They hired anti-Castro Cubans to shoot down a Cuban airliner, who went ahead and did so, killing over a hundred innocent people, in 1976. I also don't trust whatever "deniability" that Ukraine's nazi-infested government has put between itself and the extremist group that probably carried out this horror. It won't be the first time that the U.S. has installed and allied itself with far right tyrants and coupsters. Our government did this repeatedly in Latin America over the last half century--tried to do it again in Venezuela in 2002 and succeeded in doing it in Honduras in 2009. That is our history, past and recent. Time and time again. In Indonesia. In Haiti. In Panama. In the Congo. In Guatemala. In Chile. On and on and on. And almost always against democracy and elected progressive leaders. In Ukraine, it was against the will of the largely Russian-speaking population which wanted to maintain friendly relations with Russia, which have been part of Russia for centuries, and which provide Russia with a vital port. The U.S. didn't like this and overthrew the elected government. Next we know, another passenger plane gets shot down. The Russia-allied rebels wouldn't likely do this (why would they?). The U.S.-allied Ukraine fascists WOULD do it, if their motive was killing Putin.

It is the only thing that makes sense and we do sadly have a history of this type of thing!

People choose to believe America is not capable of such a thing but history tells us a different story.
