Across enemy lines, wounded Syrians seek Israeli care
Source: Reuters
NAHARIYA, Israel (Reuters) - Not a hundred miles from Damascus, a Syrian rebel lies in a hospital bed, an Israeli sentry at the door. Nearby a Syrian mother sits next to her daughter, shot in the back by a sniper.
What started this year as a trickle is now a steady flow of Syrians, scores of civilians and fighters wounded in the civil war and being discreetly brought across the Golan frontline into Israel - a country with which Syria is formally still at war.
For all the advantages it brings of excellent medical care, it is a journey fraught with risk for those who fear the wrath of President Bashar al-Assad's government.
"There was one man, where I am from, who was treated in Israel. The regime forces killed his three brothers," the teenage girl's mother said. "They will kill my sons and my husband if they ever find out we were here."
For fear of retribution back home, Syrians in Israeli clinics who spoke to Reuters asked not to be named.

"In medicine there are no borders, no color, no nationality," said Oscar Embon, director general of the Ziv Medical Center in Safed.

(2,730 posts)this. They would be traitors in any other country. Israel and Netanyahu's Government is an enemy of Syria and other Arabs. Israel has been killing Arabs for decades, and they have been forcing Palestinians, even today out of their homelands for Jewish settlers.
The Syrians, mentioned here are Sunni Arabs, fighting their own fight for religious differences against the secular Government of other Syrians. This is the divide, the U.S., West, Israel, and their Arab puupets such as the monarchies of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Jordan prey upon. I would say to this lady, you are stupid! I'll be that frank.
That is their story and hers, but there is information about what is really happening. These so called rebels, give intelligence information to Syria's enemies, such as the Netanyahu Government of Israel. Israel is only using these idiots because of their stupidity. There have also been reports, Israel has not only given medical aid to them but has secretly given them arms to overthrow the Assad regime.
Israel does not give a dam about the welfare of these idiots. What they do care about is the welfare of Israel only. If helping these idiots destroy the only military forces strong enough to challenge the American supplied Israeli Army, then these fools are submitting every other Arab to slavery. Once they destroy your only resistance, then guess who will be the next victims of Netanyahu? That is why I do not care for fools of any kind, especially religious idiots. What do you think the Conquistodores did to the American Indians with their missionaries. These people know nothing about European, Western or American history. When President Obama talks about the exceptionalism of a people, he is really talking about superiority. I think he is brainwashed, epecially when he praised such characters as Reagan, George W. Bush and Magaret Thatcher. I give them all an F. That is the difference between me and Obama. I would have bought Bush up on War crimes too.
Now as far as Assad goes, if I had Syrian rebels like these, I would do the same. It is in the eye of the beholder. I consider them sellouts and traitors to their country and other Syrian citizens. They sold out to the enemy of Syria. If an American did what these people did, they would be bought up on treason and executed. There are some Syrians the Government has given amnesty also. What the Netanyahu Government wants to do is divide the current state of Syria up into different little parts. They are the ones threatening the security of Syria.
Let me also say something about the UN. This is also controled by certain states. Ban Ki Moon is not just some impartial official. He is a South Korean. What do you think if he did something to offend the United States? That is why Syria was so reluctant to take the bait of letting UN security personnel into Syria. No matter what, it would have been negative. The head of the investigative team is no more than a Sunni Arab, which they know. If, I was Syria, I wouldn't give up any chemical weapons period. So that shows, I'm not just a propaganda tool for the Assad regime. I think he is making a big mistake. They will still make an excuse to attack. It will be easier for them. I think the talking should have ended and Assad should have took the bluff. The major Deaths that came from it, would have been on Obama's head. I would rather cause major damage fighting to the Death than dying with a wimper, if I had to die. Especially on Israel, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. They are part of the heads of the snake. Give them what they have been asking for, plain and simple.

(1,560 posts)The depth to which some people will sink to support a mass murdering regime is beyond pathetic. Oh, just as long as that regime claims to be anti-American and anti-Israeli, always an important caveat for the batshit left.
