Elizabeth Warren votes against Obama trade nominee

Source: Boston Globe

WASHINGTON, DC - Senator Elizabeth Warren, who has been critical of Republicans for blocking President Obama’s nominees, was among just four senators to oppose Michael Froman’s nomination as US Trade Representative on Wednesday.

Warren, a Massachusetts Democrat, had been seeking a transparency pledge from Froman, whose confirmation was approved on a 93 to 4 vote.

On the Senate floor, Warren said that she has been concerned over ongoing negotiations over an agreement called the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

“I have heard the argument that transparency would undermine the trade representative’s policy to complete the trade agreement because public opposition would be significant,” she said, according to text of her speech provided by her office. “If transparency would lead to widespread public opposition to a trade agreement, then that trade agreement should not be the policy of the United States.”

Senator Warren IS outstanding while she should be indistinguishable from the pack of Democrats that are also Just Doing Their Jobs.

When ONE Democrat who is just doing her job becomes so noteworth and outstanding,
then we have a BIG problem.

Thank You, Senator Warren
for just doing your job.

it's just a game when its a landslide, she would vote one way, and as a 60th, the other

Elizabeth Warren IS a team player.

Like Dennis Kucinich was each and every time in the house his vote was needed.
When it wasn't he didn't need his vote to count, but when his vote is needed, he gave his all to the President

Just like in the republican party 100% of the time Rand Stands with the Bush family and so did Ron
100% of the time when a tiebreaking vote was needed
(Ron Paul voted for WAR and Afghanastan after all back then after Osama Bin Laden took down the world trade center when 3000 lives were lost, lest one forget).

her good judgement.

It is truly though amazing the way the OP Headline/link/article has slanted the story.
But then as I always say, the media, mainstream and minor league, will do anything in an attempt to embarrass OUR President.

the whole article is truly another smear job, and I am sure Sen. Warren is mortified that she is portrayed that way in the article.
(unless of course you know inside information to say otherwise).

especially as Team Obama includes all the democratic party office holders, each playing their position quite well.
Keeps the other side not knowning which way to go next.

It's a win-win-win

because democratic party does nuance.

If Hillary Clinton is the nominee, then I'm sure that both Warren and Obama will congratulate her, endorse her, and work for her. They will make the judgment that she's better than the Republican, a judgment that will certainly be correct. For my part, I'll vote for her, albeit unenthusiastically.

If, in the 2016 primaries, Warren endorses a candidate, be it Clinton or anyone else, I would give that endorsement a little weight, but not a huge amount. I trust Warren but my support for her isn't a cult of personality.

Of course, if Warren herself runs (which I consider very unlikely), I'll be very likely to support her in the primaries.
