Unions' Choice to Avoid Primary Will Aid Booker

Source: Real Clear Politics

The good news keeps coming for Cory Booker in the popular Newark mayor’s bid to become the next senator from New Jersey.

A pair of polls released on Monday showed the Democratic front-runner besting his two most viable primary opponents -- U.S. Reps. Frank Pallone and Rush Holt -- by more than 40 percent in the special election to finish out the term of Sen. Frank Lautenberg, who died last week at age 89.

The best chance for liberal-leaning Pallone and Holt to make the race competitive against Booker --who is far better known statewide and has already begun racking up key endorsements -- would be to win the endorsement of one (or both) of the Garden State’s two most powerful unions: The New Jersey Education Association and the state branch of the Communication Workers Association of America.

But sources connected to both the NJEA and CWA tell RealClearPolitics that they do not expect their organizations to endorse a candidate in the Aug. 13 primary, leaving Booker with one less obstacle on his expected march to victory in the Oct. 16 general election.

Because Pallone has consistently voted in favor of the Public Education system wheareas Cory Booker will get to Washington and immediately get into bed with Republicans who want to dismantle it entirely and replace with vouchers.

Here's the thing - Booker wins hands down. No amount of debate will change that. So we can't stress over any of this stuff or get real excited. The fix is in - Booker wins.

It isn't rigged. Booker has successfully built up a public profile which has made him the hands-down most popular Democrat in the state.

Or in Somerset or Hunterdon County.

Chivikula is out here - but not Booker. National Profile doesn't allow folks in Texas or Oklahoma to vote for him here.

Regardless - he WILL be the Democratic Nominee but I might not even vote that day. I think it is really a huge waste of money to have two elections.

Governor's race is more important and has MUCH more impact on my daily life. Washington DC is a nothing town until it goes all blue. They aren't doing anything down there of value.

But big things happen in Trenton!

Canvassing and GOTV for Chivukula in Hunterdon County especially. . .

I have a 'brown' face. So I say this as kindly as possible because there are progressives in my area but . . . Read between the lines.

What's the issue in Horse Country here? And once Obama (as some of them call him a Muslim Fascist Kenyan Socialist) endorses Booker - that vote goes to Booker's opponent.

Just watch. I live out here. I'm telling you - they smile to your face only out here . . .

I saw it. I'm not going to canvass for him though. He has my vote - and that's it.

Sadly - the same people are going to turn around and vote for Leonard Lance AGAIN next year. You watch.
