Lauren Boebert Mocked Over Report She Was 'Overserved' at GOP Event

Weekend Reporter

U.S. House Rep. Lauren Boebert, a Republican serving Colorado's 3rd Congressional District, was mocked on Friday after a CNN report stating she was "overserved" at a GOP event in December 2023.

Melanie Zanona, a CNN Capitol Hill reporter who published an article on Friday about Boebert's reported antics at the December event, told CNN This Morning's Kasie Hunt that the congresswoman was told by staff that they would not bring her any more alcoholic beverages because she had been "overserved" at the Republican gala in New York City, which was headlined by former President Donald Trump late last year.

Boebert, who is running for Colorado's 4th Congressional District in 2024, is no stranger to controversy. In September 2023, the outspoken GOP lawmaker was ejected from the Buell Theater in Denver during a performance of Beetlejuice The Musical. The congresswoman was caught on surveillance video vaping and showing public displays of affection with her date for the show.

Newsweek reached out to Boebert's office and campaign via email for comment. Zanona also reported that Trump's security people had to ask the congresswoman to stop trying to pose for pictures with the former president at the December event.

It's not Boobert's fault for losing control of herself, it's the bartender's fault for pouring drinks down her throat. It's like how some people who have a car crash while drunk try to make it the server's fault. They'll sue the bar or the casino or whatever.

It can sometimes be difficult for a bartender or server to tell who has had too much. You have no idea how much that person already had to drink before arriving at your bar. Some people seem fine, then all of the sudden they hit their magical number of drinks and are completely, utterly, wasted. Plus, cutting people off can be scary, some can get violent. Most get mouthy and nasty, but it’s the ones who get violent that are scary, especially if you have no bouncer (though tough regulars are awesome and will help!)

They are very good at making sure to word something so that it creates the effect they want. One of my main peeves about them is when they report on someone who is in their teens doing something, or having something done to them. They always make sure to word things to benefit their report. If the person is someone that they want the readers to have sympathy for, they refer to the person as 'the teen', or as 'the minor'. If it is someone that they wish to be perceived as a 'villain' or that they don't want to get any sympathetic responses, they refer to them as 'the young man' or 'the young adult'. It is all designed to make sure that you look at the person in question the way they want you to. It is simple manipulation. It is a device that should not work, but here we are...
