Disney's Bob Iger has won the long proxy battle against Nelson Peltz.

Source: Business Insider

Disney CEO Bob Iger has officially prevailed in his battle against activist investor Nelson Peltz.

At Disney's annual meeting Wednesday, shareholders voted to keep Iger and Disney management's board instead of choosing to swap in two new members nominated by Peltz's investment firm Trian Partners: Peltz, himself, and former Disney CFO Jay Rosulo.

Disney's slate won by "a substantial margin," Horacio Gutierrez, Disney's senior executive VP, said. The final tally will be available in the coming days, the company said, but CNBC reported that Disney director Maria Elena Lagomasino — who Peltz had wanted to oust — got 63% of votes, while Peltz received 31%.

That is behind a possible buy out of Disney itself. We haven't seen the last of him.

Think that says it all. He wanted on the board to try and stage a coup and drop any and all progressive actions. On top of that, he wanted to do "cost cutting" which means sell off assets to vulture...I mean venture hedge fund (like his own) groups. He's basically a modern version of a corporate raider, they never went away, just reinvented themselves.

The Disney family has had a lot of criticism of Iger, but they backed him over Peltz. I made my sure all my shares backed Iger as well. Even Steve Jobs, cold as ice, wife backed Iger.
