Trump canceled a rally in Arizona because his campaign was too broke: report

Source: raw story

Matthew Chapman March 21, 2024 4:08PM ET

According to a new CNN report, Trump was planning to hold a rally in Arizona last weekend, on the same day he rallied in Ohio to support his endorsed Senate candidate Bernie Moreno, but backed out at the last minute.

"On Wednesday, Biden was in Arizona to announce $8.5 billion going toward a new Intel chip processing plant outside of Phoenix, returning to a state he visited twice in the second half of last year," reported Edward Isaac-Dovere and Kristen Holmes.

"Trump had been looking at a trip to the state – which went for Biden by just 10,457 votes in 2020 – for last weekend, the same day as his Ohio rally. But those plans were scrapped after clinching the presidential nomination, with two sources citing a desire to save money and attend a more politically advantageous event in Ohio rallying for Moreno."........................................................

He canceled a visit to Tucson a while back after Mayor Regina Romero reminded Trump his campaign still owes Tucson taxpayers $80,000 from a rally that was held at the Tucson Convention Center in 2016.

Suddenly, Trump had to be somewhere other than Tucson. This was months ago. Pretty sure his cash flow is in even worst shape than when the deadbeat skipped out on Tucson and his $80,000 bill years ago.

Betting he still owes other AZ cities money. Can cities team up and file a class action suit against the Trump campaign?

Wondering what sob story the broke ex-president will be telling all the magas in AZ to explain how he is being so badly treated that he just can't come here to pass the hat again. Safe bet a lot of them will get all rage & bluster that someone is preventing their Golden Hog from coming to bestow his blessing upon them

I had a vague recollection of him owing money for previous rallies, but couldn't have said which cities. What a jerk!

The real irony is that whatever money he "saved" by not paying the bills for his stupid rallies is chicken feed compared to what he now owes NY for his years of frauding. Poor widdle baby Donnie...NOT!

Hopefully we can turn that state blue. The north part of the state is maga crazy but the southern part is more liberal.
My husband has a maga niece that lives in Prescott and she’s not happy many Californians are moving there and driving up housing prices. We might even get rid of Paul Gosar this year if the Democrats put up a good candidate that sounds sane as compared to Gosar.

This was a stupid one to cancel since it drew wingnuts from as far away as Idaho in the past and some of those wingnuts had pretty deep pockets. Now they're going to miss their pep rally for hate and will consequently have trouble maintaining high enthusisasm for their Lard and Savior.

In 2016, he told us all that he was so fuckin rich that he didn't need the RNC to support his campaign. How does he feel about that now? He made so much money grifting while in the White House that he surely doesn't need any help with his MAGA Love Fest Campaign.
