Trump's RNC officially kills the GOP's mail-in voter effort

In a victory for the extremist wing of the Republican Party, it looks like Donald Trump’s hand-picked leadership team at the Republican National Committee has officially scrapped the GOP’s plan to encourage early voting this election cycle. Instead, the party is taking steps to prioritize legal challenges to voting systems ahead of November.

As part of the layoffs and budget cuts carried out this week by the newly installed leadership team, they are shuttering a program dedicated to mail-in voting, according to The Washington Post. The significance, of course, is that Trump has pushed false claims that mail-in voting is rife with voter fraud since 2020, months before he lost the election to Joe Biden. Ever since the election, Trump has continued to spread conspiracy theories that mail-in voter fraud cost him that race. In reality, there’s ample evidence that allowing people to vote by mail doesn’t have a partisan effect (and if it does, data shows the impact appears to favor Republicans).

Nonetheless, the Post reported that the “Bank Your Vote” program, which was designed to encourage Republicans to vote early, is over with: "A nationwide network of community outreach centers, once a fixture of the party’s efforts to attract minority voters, will be shuttered or refocused on get-out-the-vote efforts. The much heralded “Bank Your Vote” program, aimed at getting Republicans to vote early, will shift to a “Grow The Vote” program focused more on expanding the party’s outreach to less likely Trump voters."

Former RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel was a staunch supporter of the "Bank Your Vote" program, which may be one of the many reasons she was ousted. The “Grow the Vote” program appears to be a way for Republicans to continue their mission of getting “low information, low propensity voters” — specifically those who don’t typically vote — to the polls this November. (It’s like Republicans have just rediscovered voter outreach or something.)

DEMs and other sane individuals will vote early, by mail or drop box. MAGAs will be watching drop boxes, videoing people and claiming they are dropping off bundles of ballots for dead people and non-citizens. It helps fire up the idiots.

MAGAs will mostly wait until election day because their mob boss tells them to. They will see few DEM types at polling places while waiting in longish, but not too long lines. They will be comforted that there don't seem to be anybody but other MAGAs there. They will just KNOW that their mob boss is gonna win! Reporters doing exit polls will repeat that the majority of people say they voted for Trump. MSM will play these 'updates' all day long and MAGAs will salivate watching the 'news'.

Then, later in the evening, the early/mail in ballots will start going thru the counting machines in counties across the nation. SUDDENLY Khaki Kornaki will start changing the numbers as those early, and mostly DEM & Never Trumper GOP and Independents voters' ballots start getting counted & reported from across the nation.

All the Dem voters who voted early and/or mailed in their votes won't be counted at the same rate as in-person returns in real time. In my state, at least, they had a law (don't know if it's still on the books) that mail in votes can't BEGIN to be counted until election day, And you know it takes longer to count them because the envelopes have to be opened, they have to be fed into the tabulators, signatures need to be checked, etc.

So it will look like he is winning on election day. Once all the votes are counted Biden will be the winner, but Donny Diaperstain will already have claimed he won, and will wreak havoc on the country contesting the results.

55. Mail In Voting and The Weather

I just wonder if the people who decided to discourage or even eliminate mail in voting ever considered how weather can affect voter turnout. It seems to me that Southern states and probably AZ as well can still have some uncomfortable days in November. States that have plenty of retirees, such as AZ and FL could have diminished turnouts of the demographic group that votes regularly if it's raining in FL or sunny in AZ on election day. Then there's the possibility of people who live in assisted living centers and nursing homes not being able to vote if mail in voting is stopped. Of course, they may be willing to forego the retiree vote if they support the threats to cutback Medicare and get rid of Social Security. Yes, they could be that intentionally cruel and foolish at the same time.
