Democrat Dingell says Trump may have 'nuked Gaza' amid anger at Biden
Source: The Hill
Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.) warned Tuesday that her colleague Rep. Rashida Tlaibs (D-Mich.) anger at President Biden over his administrations handling of the Israel-Hamas war could backfire if it helps elect former President Trump, who she said could be far worse for Palestinians.
Dingell said it is important to listen to the Muslim and Arab American communities in Michigan, as voters in the state go to the primary polls on Tuesday. Tlaib has backed a push for Democratic voters to vote uncommitted in protest of Bidens support for Israel, and refusal to back a ceasefire in the war.
But Dingell said that Palestinians in Gaza would have been worse off if Trump was in the Oval Office when Hamas attacked Israel on Oct. 7, killing some 1,200 people and taking about 240 hostages.
I have a different perspective than some, Dingell said during her Tuesday appearance on MSNBC. Im glad were talking about it now and not on Oct. 15. I also say to my colleague who I talk to all the time, you do not want Donald Trump to be president! If Hamas had done this under a Trump presidency, Im not sure that he wouldnt have just nuked Gaza, to be perfectly frank.

(32,714 posts)They want ceasefire, they want aid to Gaza, they want Israel to come to the table? Their only hope is reelecting Joe Biden. They'll never ever get cooperation out of Chump. The first thing Chump would do if he ever got back to the White House is to deport Rashida Tlaib.
You think I'm kidding? Uh-uh

(1,670 posts)This is the time to raise those issues, and keep them on the plate for Democrats. I don't think this is "torpedo Biden," as much as "don't forget us." Is it too loud? Possibly. Does it help the MM tell the "Democrats in Disarray" storyline. Yes, but what doesn't. The question isn't are they raising a ruckus now, the question is will they help quell the discontent in the general.
Bernie Sanders worked very hard to elect Democrats in the last two presidential elections. I believe the squad will do the same.
