Super PAC supporting RFK Jr. says it has gathered enough signatures to put him on ballot in Arizona, Georgia

Source: CNN Politics

Published 11:39 AM EST, Tue February 27, 2024

CNN — The outside group supporting Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s independent presidential bid has gathered enough signatures to qualify Kennedy to appear on the ballot in two key battleground states in November, the group announced on Tuesday.

American Values 2024 said in a news release they have gathered the necessary signatures to secure ballot access for Kennedy in Arizona and Georgia, two states that helped President Joe Biden defeat former President Donald Trump in the 2020 election by very narrow margins.

“The grassroots energy and momentum give us more confidence than ever in our ability to knock out the remaining states on our list of states quickly,” PAC co-founder Tony Lyons said in a statement on Tuesday.

While Kennedy’s longshot bid is unlikely to garner enough support to win in November, his appearance on the ballot in pivotal swing states could reshuffle the electoral dynamics in a potential rematch between Biden and Trump. Biden defeated Trump by less than half a percentage point in both Arizona and Georgia in the 2020 election. Kennedy is currently on the ballot in one state, Utah, and his campaign has gathered enough signatures to appear on the ballots in New Hampshire and Hawaii.

I actually used to enjoy the podcast but I cannot listen to it anymore knowing what both of them are directly or indirectly giving credibility to. It simply is a huge, huge disservice to the human race for RFK Junior to be doing what he is doing.

NO Tig is not a rightie and I am sure Cheryl isnt either, but they both need to denounce what he is doing and of course neither has that I know of.

In my way of thinking, Tig at least has to come out and say she disagrees with what he is doing, and maybe she has, if she has someone can provide that please.

He will likely try to come across as a Democrat and could change his tune about vaccines. (Just to be a spoiler)

Too many voters don't pay attention. They will just think, "Oh he's a Kennedy. He's an independent Democrat. I want that".

I really think it becomes a split, you'll never pull over true Trump supporters but you will pull in some from the GOP that just can't bring themselves to vote for Biden and then you will pull over Biden protest votes and others. It should work the same way with independants.

The thing that is amazing to me is that they announced they have enough in Arizona and Georgia, they are just like the GOP they are telling you exactly what they want to do which is defeat Biden. Why on earth would you target those states and crow about it if that wasn't your plan? Why not work hard to get on the ballot in Maine or Tennesee or Iowa or Montana? Because you can't cause enough damage there.

Urrggg!

JMHO… look at what Dan Phillips did in the recent dem primaries…pretty much nothing. If you’re maga and a frump voter you aren’t going to choose a 3rd party person…you think your guy is going to win. The rest of us, independents, Dems and a fair number of never frump republicans say they will vote for President Biden and with good reason…absolute terror about frump getting another term. The young voters, the Swifties, they aren’t going to vote for the 3rd party guy or frump!

But the campaign waited too long to drag Ted's Oldsmobile out of the water under the Chappaquiddick Bridge with Mary Jo's Rigor mortis stiffened body, her hands clasping the back seat and face turned upward toward a diminishing air pocket, to save Carter's presidency. Too little Too late.

Biden's people need to really start in on RFK jr now, beginning with the heroin addiction and his insistence that his cousin Michael Skakel was innocent and railroaded for beating Martha Moxley to death with a golf club.

Plenty of skeletons in that closet.

It runs in the family.

who is getting far too much "speculative credit" by the media for being any type of disruptor.

The group that the media ignores that HAS BEEN and will continue to be the largest "3rd party", is the Libertarian Party, who consistently, election after election, come in 3rd behind (D)s & (R)s, and far ahead of the Green Party, Constitution Party, and others (which would probably eventually include "No Labels" if they ever get on any ballot).

The Libertarians are generally a subset of the right and GOP (with a small fraction being more "left-leaning" ).

28. Some info on American Values 2024 PAC
Wed Feb 28, 2024, 10:25 AM
Feb 28

"The group was co-founded in 2022 by Mark Gorton, CEO of Tower Research Capital and creator of file-sharing platform LimeWire, and Tony Lyons, head of independent book publishing company SkyHorse Publishing. Gorton and Lyons serve as co-chairs of the PAC."

"Both Gorton and Lyons have been affiliated with Kennedy in the past. Gorton told CNBC in May that, in 2021, he donated $1 million to Children’s Health Defense, a Kennedy-run nonprofit that frequently spreads anti-vaccine misinformation. Meanwhile, Lyons has published several of Kennedy’s books, including 'The Real Anthony Fauci' and 'A Letter to Liberals.'"

(See links below for Amazon synopsis of Kennedy's anti-Fauci and anti-vax books)

"The group had raised nearly $9.8 million, as of June 30, according to filings with the Federal Election Commission. Timothy Mellon, a billionaire descendant of the Mellon banking family, contributed $5 million to the PAC – after donating to a pro-Donald Trump committee in 2020. Celebrity security consultant Gavin de Becker – who has donated to both Republican and Democratic candidates in the past – contributed $4.5 million to American Values 2024."

"The group says it plans to spend between $10 million and $15 million to make sure Kennedy is on the ballot in at least 10 states, including swing states, where ballot access for independent candidates can be difficult."

Also, reporting shows RFK JR’s campaign donations come from Republicans and Conservative sources.

Since they are targeting 2020 battleground states: Georgia and Arizona, do these people really believe RFK will affect Biden in those states?
