Fulton County DA's office rejects Trump claims that cell phone data undercuts Georgia prosecutors' testimony

Source: CNN Politics

Updated 1:43 AM EST, Sat February 24, 2024

CNN — Lawyers representing the Fulton County district attorney’s office are forcefully pushing back on allegations from former President Donald Trump and his co-defendants that cellphone data suggests the relationship between Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and her top prosecutor in the Georgia election subversion case started prior to the time they both testified to last week, according to a court filing Friday evening.

The DA’s office, responding to an earlier motion filed by Trump’s lead attorney in the Georgia case, said the cited phone records “do not prove anything relevant” and should not be considered as evidence in proceedings to decide whether Willis should be disqualified.

“The records do nothing more than demonstrate that Special Prosecutor Wade’s telephone was located somewhere within a densely populated multiple-mile radius where various residences, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and other businesses are located,” the prosecutors wrote in the Friday night filing. “The records do not prove, in any way, the content of the communications between Special Prosecutor Wade and District Attorney Willis; they do not prove that Special Prosecutor Wade was ever at any particular location or address; they do not prove that Special Prosecutor Wade and District Attorney Willis were ever in the same place during any of the times listed.”

The DA’s office also argued that there is evidence showing Willis and Wade were not in the same place on the dates listed, including “at work at the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office AND VISTING THE THREE CRIME SCENES WHERE A MASS MURDER MOTIVATED BY RACE AND GENDER BIAS HAD TAKEN PLACE.” At the end of its response, the DA’s office questioned whether Trump legally obtained the cell phone data cited in its initial motion, noting that a search warrant is typically required to obtain such information.

I know they must have dug deep for NY AG Tish James and apparently couldn't find anything (they did attempt a Hail Mary with the E. Jean Carroll case with her lawyer and the Judge and failed). I expect they are already digging for Alvin Bragg, whose trial will be coming up next month.

and do it legally?
Consider how chilling this is.
You're on trial for, say, multiple murders.
You want to track where your prosecuting attorney goes day to day. You don't know where he lives (because he's in hiding.)
All you have to do is hire a PI, who somehow finagles the records from ATT?
Want to kill the prosecutor? Easy Peasy now. You know where he hangs out. You know where he travels. You know his daily route to court.

How is this legal, that they were able to do this?

Murdering the college kids...in Utah? Idaho? Anyway, prosecutors say before the killings, he stalked the house/area students stayed at multiple times. Because his cell phone pinged. So guessing legal? Was Wade's phone subpoenaed?

Probably Isreal's Pegasus - which is present in most phones, and certainly public officials' phones.

It's no secret Nutty-yahoo wants his orange goon back in power - a yes-man to all his genocidal and expansionist dreams.

And this would be quite a contribution-in-kind to his campaign - just what he needed, when he needed it.

He was in private practice with his own law firm - https://www.11alive.com/article/news/special-reports/ga-trump-investigation/who-is-nathan-wade/85-ac82f30f-82aa-460a-9ef0-71396cf2f6c0

https://wadeandcampbell.com/nathan-j-wade/

Since this was a RICO case that ended up with 19 co-defendants (and some unindicted co-conspirators), they might have needed additional resources to pull off.

The ISSUE that this nonsense is designed to distract and blind people with, is that a SPECIAL GRAND JURY decided on whether charges should be brought, and a REGULAR GRAND JURY decided on the final indictments, with 41 charges against 19 people.

Interesting that investigator used multiple cell #s - some not in evidence.

Willis office says altho Wade not employed, part of " kitchen cabinet" for advice/opinions.

Did erroneously think Wade worked as a contractor for AG prior to hire as SP. Must have been other contractors.

that is still going on. So I think pulling any resources to deal with this critical insurrectionist cast of characters, would be a must.

She did manage to get 4 plea deals out of this case (so far). It will be interesting to see if Mark Meadows will cave for the state (since he already did federally).

And since this is a state case, there is no federal pardon available, so 45's battle against any state cases will always be fierce (expect the same to happen with Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg in NY too as that is the other "state criminal" case that is pending).

It is purely distraction and the media as well as others have fallen for it.

It's akin to the tactic that 45's lawyers attempted with claiming there was a "conflict of interest" between E. Jean Carroll's lawyer and the Judge in her defamation trial because they were briefly at the same law firm 30 years ago.

The investigator also says that in September and November of 2021, Wade’s phone traveled several times to the area where the condo is located late into the evening and early morning. In addition, Willis and Wade exchanged phone calls late into the evenings during this time

Doesn't the fact they called each other mean they WEREN'T in the same place at the same time?
