Biden instructed aides to dial up attacks on Trump's wild comments

CNN President Joe Biden personally directed his senior campaign aides in recent days to focus more aggressively on former President Donald Trumps inflammatory comments, according to two sources familiar with the presidents edict.
The thrust of Bidens direction, delivered to his senior-most staff, was to significantly ramp up the campaigns efforts to highlight the crazy s**t that Trump says in public, according to those sources.
The previously unreported instruction from the president appears to demonstrate that Biden himself believes it is critical to paint his presumptive Republican opponent as unhinged and unfit for office. For weeks, his campaign has said they are fully prepared for Trump to emerge as the GOP nominee.
The presidents reelection team has long been focused on hammering home what they say are black-and-white contrasts between Biden and Trump when it comes to their temperaments and world views. Biden campaign advisers say that warning voters about what another four years under a Trump presidency would look like is central to their general election strategy on everything from foreign policy to reproductive rights to the protection of democratic institutions.

It's bad enough with just the House being controlled by Maga right now.

All the above I hope.
Would love to see Biden do a televised town-hall with only Rs in the audience asking R type stupid questions.
Might need Jen Psaki with her notes as backup. Biden could wash away so many fears RW media and
Boяis Тяцмp have brainwashed them with.

(129,330 posts)He might do that later. Right now, he is doing a billion fundraisers and banking it because since (D)s own no media (other than what Soros is in the process of buying), we get no "free" press like 45. So we have to pay for our message.

(129,330 posts)although Citizen's United made it a million times worse.

(17,294 posts)Maybe along the lines of "They're diluting the only thing citizens have ...our vote"?
I'm far from being an intellectual when it comes to all the in's & out's of how our Government works.
But let's say come next year with Biden in the White House and both Houses solidly Democratic, could they
pass a law outlawing Citizen's United that the SCOTUS could not put their 2 cents worth in on?
BumRushDaShow
(129,330 posts)Now, neither McCain nor Feingold are in Congress anymore and SOMEONE should revise that law to crack down on the unregulated "dark money" the Ruling unleashed without a check and balance.
The irony of "Citizens United" was that they sued because their propaganda film "Hillary: The Movie" was being refused an airing as "electioneering" (by a corporation), and that refusal was upheld on appeal but overturned by the SCOTUS (they claimed "First Amendment" (and won)).
KS Toronado
(17,294 posts)But that will probably never happen, could both sides ever agree on what is & isn't propaganda?

The campaign should be acting like this is an existential crisis, BECAUSE IT IS.
