Trump name coming off golf course in Bronx in deal with Bally's

BRONX, New York (WABC) -- Former President Donald Trump's name is coming off of a golf course in the Bronx, sources tell ABC News.

Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point has been the subject of a legal battle with the City of New York following the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. Now Bally's is buying Trump out of his lease with the city.

"We are supportive of the transfer of the Ferry Point Golf Course to Bally's, and we are confident they will deliver a high-quality golfing experience to New Yorkers," the New York City Parks Department said in a statement.

Bally's is expected to continue to operate Ferry Point as a golf course but rename it, sources said. Terms of the deal were not immediately clear but the sources said it's well into the millions.

Probably Bally's bought out the contract because Chump's name on it was losing money anyway. People stopped patronizing the venue after January 6 - if not before then. I'm not a golfer, but that's my guess. The place was probably bleeding business.

in a small Bronx apartment without air conditioning, many, many years ago. No golf courses, no fees, just a lot of scrubby grass, sapling trees and the cooling shadow of the bridge.

There were about 5 ways to get there by walk, and buses, and subway, or walk and all buses.

But no matter what showed up you had to walk the last part: 54 mins!

Price wasn't disclosed, but it's got to have been at a discount. You're talking about a pretty dumpy golf course in one of the city's outer armpit-y parts. As a New Yorker, I always thought the Trump brand on that course really fit.
