(9,262 posts)That would siphon off a significant amount of Q votes from the Fat One.
DemocraticPatriot
(4,524 posts)First, I don't believe he would siphon off a "significant amount of Q votes" from Trump or whomever.
Second, he does have a great Democratic name (but nothing else)....
As an independent candidate, I believe it is just possible that he could siphon more low-info votes from our side, than from theirs...
LiberalFighter
(51,388 posts)It would be very difficult to get on the ballot in every state as an independent after losing at the Democratic National Convention.

(1,693 posts)He couldve been a viable candidate in our party, but obviously hes gone round the bend with his out there views. He couldve been a congressman, senator, cabinet secretary, etc. and made a valuable contribution to our country, following in his fathers footsteps.

I just hope this nut doesn't take Dem votes which will help repubicans.

(109,025 posts)And when he loses, there's nothing to stop him from running third party, and tossing the election to the R's.
Mr.Bill
(24,369 posts)he could take the bat-shit crazy anti-vax republican votes away from them. I don't see many Democrats voting for him under any circumstances.
DemocraticPatriot
(4,524 posts)might vote for "the name"...
At this point, that is all he has.

(109,025 posts)just like RFK, who would be impressed with his environmental work.
Mr.Bill
(24,369 posts)greatly outnumber them. And given what's going on leagally for a Trump, by November 2024 there will be republicans looking for an alternative.

(6,617 posts)It's not a good voting bloc.
pnwmom
(109,025 posts)and there's no guarantee RFK would stop his run with a primary loss.

(36,236 posts)The party will tell RFK to take his money and go home.

(53,978 posts)under. I understand he's popular with Qanons and magats because of his anti-vaxx foolishness. If he tries primary Joe Biden as a Dem it won't work IMO as he's so unpopular with us Dems because of his anti-vaxx stance.

(4,524 posts)I guess he didn't recognize my name. HAHAHAHA
But yes, it is problematic--- especially if President Biden does not file for the New Hampshire primary because of their refusal to abide by the Democratic party schedule rules-- we might need to beat him in New Hampshire with write-in votes for President Biden...
(Of course, an RFK victory in New Hampshire against Marianne and sundry other non-viable candidates, and over a Biden write-in vote, would be technically meaningless, but how would the media play it??)
His father is rolling over in his grave. There is no "great issue" this year to justify this challenge against a GREAT Democratic President!

(22,237 posts)I admired his work as an environmentalist, but now--not so much. Rethugs will probably like his anti-Fauci stance. They may also think JFK Jr. is going to be his running mate.
