Joe Biden blames Trump for exacerbating unrest in cities

PITTSBURGH -- Joe Biden forcefully condemned the violence at recent protests while also blaming President Donald Trump for fomenting the divide that's sparking it. He dismissed his presidential opponent as incapable of tackling the violence himself.
"He doesn't want to shed light, he wants to generate heat, and he's stoking violence in our cities," Biden said during remarks in Pittsburgh Monday. "He can't stop the violence because for years he's fomented it."
Biden went on to denounce rioting, looting and arson at recent protests.
"It's lawlessness, plain and simple. And those who do it should be prosecuted," he said.

(43,115 posts)Attacking is not something that comes naturally to Democrats, thinking back over the last 40 years of presidential elections. It's like we had to search for issues, cooked up a homespun line, and let it fly. It sounded rehearsed.
Biden blaming Trump here is Obamaesque. Obama ran fast campaigns, with swift turnaround on issues.
And Biden is taking what Trump is throwing at him - unrest in cities - and throwing it right back at Trump. If the Biden campaign can neutralize Trump on this issue it's a big plus for Democrats up and down the ticket. At the very least Biden is eroding what little remaining credibility Trump has to muster.

(128,717 posts)someone is pumping guns into the big cities like mad. Officials here in Philly have noted that our police have been confiscating and community organizations have been doing buy-backs and turn-ins of "bags" of guns, from various communities, yet more keep magically appearing almost immediately. They are trying to get a handle on how many are actually "ghost guns" (untraceable made from kits sold over the internet and supposedly regulated - although PA's policy ban on those parts was halted last January).

(6,145 posts)I watched all 23 minutes of it. Worth the time. I hope it gets play all over the news.
And I hope it makes Trump shit all over himself.

(15,273 posts)Glad Biden didn't dance around. He specifically used Trump's name and linked it to what's happening. Trump should be called out by EVERY Dem for the lazy, TV and Twitter addict he is with no interest whatsoever in serving in his capacity as president except where it benefits himself/family.
