Pelosi On Republicans: 'Perhaps You Mistook Them For Somebody Who Gives A Damn'

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had harsh words for her fellow White House negotiators Thursday morning in response to a question about why they cant at least come together on a new deal for the most vulnerable people in the face of the pandemic.
Perhaps you mistook them for somebody who gives a damn for what you just described, she quipped, earning a soft jeez from CNBCs Jim Cramer.
Pelosi also took the opportunity during the interview to drop a well-timed troll, saying that she hopes President Donald Trump carries out his threat to act unilaterally on extending the eviction moratorium. But, she added, it wont do much good without accompanying financial aid to help people avoid falling down the same hole months later.
If they extend the moratorium, people wont have to pay their rent just yet, it will be pushed further down the road unless we get some money for them to compensate for what they have to get, she said. And thats not just for the renters thats for the landlords. What good is it to the landlords if you have a moratorium until the end of the year for people to pay their rent unless theres some money to help pay the rent?

(43,044 posts)CNBC lets the old dudes on there run wild, they're political, nasty, angry ... the young ones toe a logical and sane middle ground - a nod to progressives I guess. I watched that show in the 90s ... can't stand it anymore. Becky Quick is an ice princess with low smooth monotones, Faber is as ever hyperactive but says less now then ever, Kernen is a nasty old right wing grouch. Mark Haynes was the good days, he was graceful, easy to listen to, polite to a tee. I just find that if you really know what's going on the business world, in the economy, in the markets - you won't waste your time watching CNBC or FBC.
Just like business school - if they knew anything they wouldn't tell you because they want to make money off it first. Never reveal the truth, never teach the public to think - that way they'll keep watching.
