House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Sunday that mail-in voting in the upcoming election will be an essential option for Americans‘ safety and well-being, despite President Donald Trump’s claims that mail-in voting will lead to fraud and delays.

On ABC’s “This Week,” Pelosi went on the defense about Trump’s claims — noting that his family members, including Donald Trump Jr., advocated for mail-in voting for a special election earlier this year in California.

“I know that Republicans know how to do mail-in voting,” Pelosi said.

Trump has not only warned of a delay in election results because of mail-in voting, but also said that the method could jeopardize the election’s integrity.

5. I live a short distance from where I vote, in a rural community with a small population.

Every time I vote, and I vote at every opportunity, I never see more than one other person present voting with me besides the 4 or so officials, all of whom I know personally. I'd vote by mail if I needed to, but there have been zero new tested Covid-19 cases in my county in the last two weeks, so I feel relatively safe wearing my N-95 full face mask with complete eye protection.
