REVEALED: Trump wasted half a billion on 10,000 ventilators that won't arrive until September 2022

Source: raw story

By Daniel Villarreal, New Civil Rights Movement

A new report from the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Reform found that the Trump Administration repeatedly delayed an Obama-era order from the health-technology company Philips for 10,000 ventilators, wasting half-a-billion dollars for machines that won’t even arrive until September 2022.

According to the report, in 2014, the Obama Administration signed a contract with Philips to add 10,000 ventilators to the nation’s stockpile by June 2019. Though Philips delayed the fulfillment until November 2019, had they been held to that deadline, the nation would have had plenty of ventilators for when the coronavirus epidemic started in March 2020.......................

CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG...

Isn't today two weeks after Donald John Trump promised the American people he would unveil a bigger, better, (insert superlative in this space) health care plan, in two weeks.

Will it be broadcast by Twitter or will he hold a presser to make the announcement, what time today?

While Philips had sold ventilators to other purchasers for prices as low as $9,327 per unit, the Trump Administration ended up paying $50,000 per unit.

“The documents show that the Administration accepted Philips’ first offer without even trying to negotiate a lower price,” the report reads.

We are really fortunate to have a spiffy, expert businessman who knows how to get things done and who makes artful deals like there's no tomorrow.

Hey, they might have been asking $100,000 a piece for those ventilators delivery in FIVE years.

Such a deal!

In fact, I have NEVER really seen him demonstrate that in office. He is just a bossy braggart. Drunk monkeys could negotiate and make better deals.

blame Obama for something? In contriving a shortage of critically needed ventilators how many Americans died as a result?

Now I'm wondering if their might be other similar orders for medical supplies that Trump deliberately quashed to add to the crisis as a way to shift the blame to China, Democrats or Obama?

Trump is greedy as is Kushner, but neither has the larger sense of context required to see this as an advantage. IMO the tactic speaks loudly of Putin derailing US infrastructure and strategic function in government.

after all, buying ventilators does not help the GOP. Those that matter buy their own. Wasting good money on ordinary people is not good policy.

Then CLAW BACK every penny he stole from every source he stole it from. Then do the same to whatever his kids stole. Leave them only whatever a 40-hour workweek at minimum wage would earn. Or prison wages WHICHEVER IS THE LESSER OF THE TWO. Also, don't forget to strip him of all the life long benefits a former president receives. Especially U.S. Secret Service let him struggle in the world like the minimum wage Americans.

For all the other grifter's prison wages.
