House Democrats are warning that the integrity of November's elections are under significant threat from foreign actors - and the Trump administration, they say, is going out of its way to conceal the danger from the public.

Emerging from a long, classified briefing with top administration officials in the Capitol, a host of Democrats said they now have less confidence that the elections will be secure from outside influence than they did going into the meeting.

"I don't feel comfortable about what's going on," said Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.). "Very disturbing."

"Horrible briefing," said Rep. Ron Kind (D-Wis.).

provided the votes are counted and the tally acknowledged. It's not too soon to consider actions appropriate to ensure that acknowledgment.

Requisite:
There can be no question as to the intent and will of the voters.
It must be on ALL news outlets that Trump and Republicans have been decidedly defeated.
It must be the publicly stated mission of all federal and local law enforcement agencies, as well as leadership in the military to act, if necessary, to ensure the successful transfer of power.
There must be no question of the universal validity. Every mayor, governor, senator, congressman and judge must answer all inquiry with unwavering certainty that the electoral counts are immutable facts.

The questions I don't have an answer about are those concerning the rights of broadcast speech advocating non-facts, opinions contrary to the evidence, deniers of evidence. I mean, can Tucker and Rush, etc.(or even Trump) be arrested or their voices denied access to media? When does conspiracy to undermine the national interest fade from the political arena into the criminally incendiary? That's the elephant-in-the-room question that lay before us. If we were to spend the remainder of the century debating the angels on that pinhead it would be time well spent.
It was failure of the powerful, after the civil war, to honestly deal with this question that has us where we are today. Will it require cataclysmic social and infrastructural destruction such as suffered in post WWII Europe, Russia, Japan and China or the apocalypse current in the middle east to bring the US to seriously reckon with the hard things?

Democracy = What is best for the most, is good for all. Rinse and repeat at regular intervals of time. SIMPLE.

America has a long history of messing around with other country's election systems. Now its happening to us, now we know what feels like.

If the post office isn’t functioning properly. It is being delayed in many areas because they no longer allow overtime which is often needed because they have cut the number of employees. The new post master demanded there be no more overtime allowed, therefore mail is piling up. Machines that sort mail are not being fixed in a timely manner to sort the mail. I still hav not received a local bill I should have gotten a week ago. A package I should have received days ago has still not arrived. I watch the tracking number and it just says it’s delayed. So if you think your mail in ballot will be delivered on time, think again. I mailed my primary ballot last week before I realized the post master was demanding all of this.

Conservatives know they are a dying breed in America. This is how they cling to power, by suppressing voting in 1000 little ways. Voter ID, closing polling places, purging voter rolls, dozens of other road blocks to registration, random polling place challenges, and gerrymandering (OK both sides do that one).

They know they are on the wrong side of all this, and they know the people here hate them, but why change to fit the need of the people when you can just cheat your way to power?

Cohen, chairman of the Judiciary Committee's subpanel on the Constitution, was equally discouraged, saying there's very little that Congress can do to force the administration's hand.
