Kanye West is heading South for his first political event.
The rapper and former avowed supporter of President Donald Trump will hold the first presidential campaign event of his own Sunday in South Carolina, according to a campaign document obtained by POLITICO.
West will host the afternoon stop at the Exquis Event Center in North Charleston for registered guests only. All attendees will be required to wear masks, observe social distancing and sign a Covid-19 liability release form.
West, who announced his White House campaign on the Fourth of July, filed a statement of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission last week, listing BDY the Birthday Party as his party affiliation. He tweeted Saturday for supporters to get him on the ballot in South Carolina.

(42,862 posts)If the vote doesn't benefit Biden, then it DOES benefit Trump. It's one fewer vote that Trump needs to catch-up with (or pass) Biden's vote total.

(1,393 posts)....to peel off black voters? Im in total agreement with you. He quickly went from from Trump backer to independent thinker.

(50,571 posts)First he said hes running for President.
Then he pulled out of the race after it was determined his entire base is black Trump supporters.

I don't like hammering people who are mentally ill, but this guy is just a narcissistic, no-talent (that's my opinion I know), opportunist.

(13,580 posts)takes votes away from trump. I also thought it was said he cant be added to any ballots in any states because its to late for that. I guess there is write in though. Dont think that would be successful.

(27,454 posts)But my African American daughter in law says its not Black people who will vote for him, its the young White males that make up a big chunk of his fan base.
Sounds like these guys would otherwise be Trumpers.

Kind of reminds me of Trump.

(53,949 posts)so I don't get why they don't try to intervene. But now that I think about it, that's a pretty dysfunctional family, what with the high-profile sex change and it's effects on the children so maybe dysfunctional is normal to them.
