'DENIED': Trump family effort to block tell-all book by the president's niece squashed by judge
Source: Raw Story
On Monday, a judge in New York lifted the lawsuit from the Trump family that blocked Mary Trump from releasing her tell-all book, which is scheduled to hit bookshelves this week.
WIth the lifting of the gag order prohibiting Mary Trump from speaking about the book, her attorney Ted Boutros said that the First Amendment forbids prior restraints because they are intolerable infringements on the right to participate in democracy.

(22,191 posts)Good for her and her book. How many books are out there now on trump and his idiot sideshow? 10? 20? More?
Every book, every person that's rode the rump train and got off have all stained and damaged their reputations severely. How many more disgusting stories are out there on the PINO?

The bookToo Much Is Never Enough: How My Family Created the Worlds Most Dangerous Man, which people close to the project say has already sold close to 1 million copies and is on its third print runis due out on Tuesday.
In a statement to The Daily Beast, Mary Trumps attorney, Theodore Boutrous Jr. said, The court got it right in rejecting the Trump familys effort to squelch Mary Trumps core political speech on important issues of public concern. The First Amendment forbids prior restraints because they are intolerable infringements on the right to participate in democracy. Tomorrow, the American public will be able to read Marys important words for themselves.
The development comes as the man spearheading the complicated and time consuming legal effort to stop the books publication and enforce Marys gag order, her uncle Robert, was readmitted to the same intensive care unit at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York on Thursday where he had spent 10 days in June in a serious condition, according to multiple people familiar with the situation.
Going nuts here. Can someone PLEASE tell me what actress Mary Trump looks like. These kind of things keep me up nights. Thank you.

This book is actual free speech.
The government cannot do shit to suppress this.

The girl said they got 40 books, and one was left. I'm glad.

(5,790 posts)... stop the Trumps from attempting to penalize her through enforcement of whatever may be the terms of the alleged non disclosure agreement.
If that were tossed it would be a real first amendment victory.

(25,925 posts)and therefore the non disclosure agreement is invalid.

(5,790 posts)... one being that the other trumps have never asked her permission before disclosing information about the family. So there's that.
I would like to see a ruling that just flat out invalidates any non disclosure pertaining to a topic of serious and significant public interest.

(25,925 posts)Lucky for me I've never been in a situation where I've been asked to sign one.
reACTIONary
(5,790 posts)... that the non disclosure agreement held no force in this situation. I don't know if that was a ruling in and of itself, or if it was mentioned as part of the rational for dismissing the restraining order.

Of course these are limited and substantially different in nature from the sort of agreement we see here.
