Trump: 'I disagree' with Fauci on COVID-19 in the US
Source: MSN
Trump, speaking Tuesday in a TV interview, disagreed with Fauci, a key player on the White House's own Coronavirus Task Force.
"I think we are in a good place," the president said in an interview on the "Full Court Press" news show hosted by a former Fox News anchor, adding: "I disagree with him."
"Dr. Fauci said don't wear masks, now he says wear them," he continued, adding that the immunologist has "said numerous things" that according to Trump were bad advice.
"So we've done a good job. I think we are going to be in two, three, four weeks, by the time we next speak, I think we are going to be in very good shape," Trump added.

I guess Trumpsters can take it to the bank that in a few weeks we will "be in very good shape."

By good shape does Trump mean 150,000 dead and 3.5 million cases of C-19?

(33,310 posts)Typical of a narcissist to turn that statement against him; undermining Fauci's expertise.
Everyone gets dragged into the sty with President Pig. Everyone has to be made out a liar just the same as him.

US population - 330 million people, 3 million cases, 133 thousand deaths
Only 4% of the world population but 26% of all cases and 26% of all deaths.
We're in very good shape?

(7,412 posts)With the benefit of hindsight he's cherry-picked statements that weren't perfect.
As a result of these "imperfect" scientific statements, any or all similar statements can be discredited moving forward.
This is as anti-science as it gets, folks.
He probably doesn't even realize how truly anti-science that is.

(44,973 posts)The concern was, if public was told to wear masks, public was going to buy masks in large numbers, and there was a severe shortage of PPE even for health workers.
Even now public is told to wear cloth masks. This virus is airborne. So cloth masks is not the best protection available. But we still don't have enough proper PPE.

(7,412 posts)Like it or not, Fauci's messaging on masks in March included statements that they were pointless and possibly even had unintended consequences (in addition to health care workers needing them).

Again, the science has evolved. Weaponizing imperfect statements from a time when less information was available and not allowing the science to improve is anti-science.

(11,631 posts).. I always marvel at how talking heads parse his words on a daily basis as if there's some deeper meaning, some underlying code. He's just a fucking moron with the mind of an 8 year old. He's completely egoistic its just that he's mostly too stupid to even know whats in his own best interests.

(33,310 posts)He lies to deflect blame, he lies to attack, he lies to conflate, he lies to self-aggrandize, he lies to destroy truth.
He has considerable skill, as he is very practiced and has no conscience. The fact that his lies are transparent and often absurd does not make them less effective: gaslighting does not require plausibility.
Rachel Maddow said last night that Mary L. Trump's book shows that he lies for his own pleasure as well. He is a Sociopath.

(9,412 posts)the picture is bleak. Anyone that believes Florida has had only 3840 deaths from 214,000 positive cases - half the rate of the country as a whole is NUTZ. The state is filled with geezers and retirement communities and facilities.

(333 posts)Nothing in that piece explores the foundation of trumps wisdom on this matter. Where are his facts, where does he get his information from. Is he just making this stuff up? Is it just wishful thinking? GIVEN HOW EXTREMELY WRONG HE'S BEEN JUST WITH THIS VIRUS, WHY SHOULD WE EVEN LISTEN TO HIM. WHY WOULD ANY INTELLIGENT PERSON TAKE THE WORD OF A PATHOLOGICAL LIAR WITH TEXTBOOK NARCISSISTIC PERSONALITY DISORDER?
WHY DOES THE MEDIA LOVE THIS MAN SO MUCH? WHY DO THEY KEEP ASKING HIM QUESTIONS WHEN THEY KNOW HE'S JUST GOING TO ANSWER THEM---WITH BULLSHIT!!
PROOF: Nowhere in that article does the reporter ask "Based on what? What information do you have to back up your assertions? Why should people take your word over Dr Fauci? Why does Dr Fauci have a job if he doesn't know what he talking about--you hired him?"

(19,233 posts)The idea that new information can change how you respond to problems is confusing and scary to them.
It also explains why they cling to the Bible so strongly. It's absolute, unchangeable. It can't be questioned. It gives them comfort.
