European Union bars travelers from U.S. citing coronavirus concerns
Source: NBC News
LONDON Most travelers from the United States will be barred from entering the European Union after it reopens its borders Wednesday because the coronavirus is still far too prevalent in the U.S., European officials announced Tuesday.
The E.U.'s 27 members have been drawing up a list of countries whose virus levels are deemed low enough to allow people from those places to travel into the bloc, which has been mostly sealed off since March.
That list of safe countries was officially unveiled by European officials on Tuesday. The U.S. which has the most coronavirus cases and deaths in the world was not on it.
The 15 countries that did make the list are: Algeria, Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia and Uruguay.

(791 posts)I did not go through the last 4 months to now let in any body from the block with little more than a temperature check on arrival.
I soo hate this country. The lock down worked and now it's back to money over people. The borders should stay shut unless you go through a mandatory 14 day quarantine period.
I'd like to be able to safely leave at some point in the future but can't really see that happening for a while.

Uruguay has reported under 1000 total positives with 27 deaths since 13 March.
The first cases then came from Europe; Brazil has been the recent corridor of contagion.
Hospitals, ICU beds, morgues and cemeteries are not stressed.
Anti-mask hysteria hardly happens.
Reusable, washable cloth mask making has been a growing home industry. Sidewalk sellers offer colorful tapabocas.
