S. Dakota Gov. Noem says 'we will not be social distancing' at July 3 celebration with Trump at Moun

Source: NBC News

WASHINGTON — South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem says the thousands of people who attend the July 3 celebration for Independence Day at Mount Rushmore with President Donald Trump will not be required to practice social distancing despite an increase in coronavirus cases across the country.

"We will have a large event at July 3rd. We told those folks that have concerns that they can stay home, but those who want to come and join us, we'll be giving out free face masks, if they choose to wear one. But we will not be social distancing," Noem, a Republican, said in an interview Monday night on Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle."

7. Fire expert: Mount Rushmore fireworks show 'ill-advised' due to dry conditions and high fire risk

So Trump's ego could cause wildfires and spread C-19 too?

Abnormally dry conditions and a persistent risk of summer wildfires in the Black Hills of South Dakota make the fireworks display planned for July 3 at the Mount Rushmore National Memorial an unnecessary, potentially devastating and expensive event, according to one fire expert with intimate knowledge of the region.

Bill Gabbert, former fire management officer for Mount Rushmore and six other national parks in the region, said the controversial fireworks show that could attract 7,500 people, possibly including President Donald Trump, would be “ill advised” even when conditions are not as dry as they are now.

“Burning debris, the burning embers and unexploded shells fall into a ponderosa pine forest and ponderosa pine is extremely flammable,” said Gabbert. “Shooting fireworks over a ponderosa pine forest, or any flammable vegetation, is ill advised and should not be done. Period.”

At least two other large Fourth of July fireworks displays in South Dakota have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

They make sure the REAL Americans cannot vote, and that's how they keep electing imbeciles. Indians in South Dakota are among the poorest people in our country. A great many have no running water, little food. It's infuriating how our government treats Native Americans.

She tried to make them stop their roadside covid screenings on the roads into the reservations until someone explained what a treaty was to her.
She has been a trump plumper for years now and recently spent a great deal of money to put a high tech video room in the capitol building for her talks with Fox News. SD is extremely conservative and she probably thinks all the citizens would gladly exchange their money and health just to puff up tRump a little more.

The original mountain before it was defaced was known as Six Grandfathers, and it was sacred, and it was beautiful.

The monument was designed by a white supremacist who also did the Confederate defacing of Stone Mountain in Georgia.

Trump such as frequent testing of people he will be coming in contact with (and getting near immediate results), with secret service to consider all risks. He is probably very safe in this regard. I don't think anyone would have a problem with this, I would expect no less for the president. But of course, it is not disclosed and he gives the impression is just doesn't need to take precautions.

Don't think the Noem has any authority and what goes and what doesn't as the park rangers are federal employee's.

Oh wait, forgot, Trump is in charge of the Executive, so this is probably his doing and she's a parrot.
