LMPD to close downtown streets Saturday amid rumors of 'armed militia' counterprotest

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro police announced the closures of multiple downtown streets amid social media rumors that "armed militia" are coming to counterprotest.

LMPD posted on its Facebook that Jefferson and Liberty streets between 5th and 7th will be closed starting Saturday at around 6 a.m. Additionally, 6th between Market and Liberty Streets will also be closed starting at around 6 a.m.

The post also says police will be present around Jefferson Square Park, using barriers to keep opposing protesters separated.

3. There is indeed a basic problem

with many Americans being reflexively quarrelsome and defiant about basically everything, but I also think that is part of Human Nature. It explains why RW propaganda is so effective in getting working-class White People to vote against their own interests.

Hard to say if it's worse here than, say, Brazil, where they're burning down the Amazon out of spite for the rest of the planet asking them not to.
