Trump lashes out at Black Lives Matter, accuses one member of 'treason'

President Trump lashed out at the Black Lives Matter movement in twin tweets Thursday, accusing one of its members of treason and lamenting reported plans for a new mural in front of Trump Tower in Manhattan that honors the cause.

Trump, who has said he supports peaceful protesters, has increasingly articulated disdain for the protests that continue across the country after the death of George Floyd. His comments Thursday were among his most aggressive attacks on the movement that rose up in recent years against racial profiling and police violence.

“Black Lives Matter leader states, ‘If U.S. doesn’t give us what we want, then we will burn down this system and replace it.’ This is Treason, Sedition, Insurrection!” Trump tweeted.

A minute later he wrote: “Told that @NYCMayor Bill de Blasio wants to paint the fabled & beautiful Fifth Avenue, right in front of Trump Tower/Tiffany, with a big yellow Black Lives Matter sign. ‘Pigs in a Blanket, Fry ‘Em Like Bacon,’ referring to killing Police, is their chant. NYC Police are furious.”

Society seems to be moving on and hardly pays him any attention anymore. The reality show/circus shtick format is dead now. People are no longer in any mood for circuses. Even the media sees this. It used to be an easy ad slot sell because of the ratings of the trump daily freak show, but not anymore. People have more pressing things on their mind these days and recoil from the unserious. Among other pressing matters, we have death squads called "police departments" and a pandemic that isn't going anywhere thanks to trump that is killing many tens of thousands of the country's citizens. HAR DE HAR! What crazy thing did trump do/say today? HAR DE HAR! No, that doesn't work anymore

Look at what's happened so far:

Racist goons being identified and promptly ostracized from both their jobs and society as a whole
Death squads (police) getting arrested and jailed for murder
Serious legislation that actually prohibits strangulation-by-cop
Corporations scrambling to clean up their image/brands
COPS, Live PD abruptly cancelled despite costing almost nothing to make
Systemic racism being challenged -- and addressed -- around the world

The list goes on and on.

Trump has become a caricature of himself. He has become the fat old guy shown, in that photo-shopped picture, yelling at the kid mowing his lawn. If he were to look up, he would see that the world has left him behind.
