Internal documents show Trump is at odds with his own experts as virus surges

Source: NBC News

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump keeps spinning a tale about COVID-19 that is at odds with his own administration's disease experts and data compiled by his own coronavirus task force, which was obtained exclusively by NBC News.

In Trump's telling, the deadly pandemic isn't really a serious threat to the public and rising infection rates are simply due to increased testing. "It's going away," he said Tuesday at an event in Phoenix.

But on the same day, the coronavirus task force produced an internal document showing that Phoenix had the highest number of new cases among the 10 metropolitan regions where the week-over-week change in infection rates spiked the most. Arizona's biggest city had recorded 13,169 new cases over the previous seven days, accounting for a jump of 149.2 percent over the previous week's infection rate.

The task force records also show that big surges have been recorded in Texas — around San Antonio, Houston, Corpus Christi, Lubbock and College Station — and in other population centers across the U.S., from counties in the Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa regions of Florida to Atlanta's Fulton County, Joplin, Missouri's Newton County, and California's San Joaquin Valley.

4. Republicans' Mismanagement and Misinformation Is Killing Americans

The typical Republican response to a problem is to just find a scapegoat, which is typically to blame minorities, immigrants, Democrats, President Obama, feminists, etc. The problem with COVID-19 is that you can't just blame a scapegoat and wait for the media to focus on the next thing, because it does not go away. Trump tried to blame China, but it is now June and even the EU's cases have now gone down, so what is America's problem. Then there was a lot of attention on BLM protests, but COVID-19 is still here.

Then, they tried to blame testing with Trump even calling for a slow down in test! But, it is tough to ignore the fact that more people are going to the hospital.

If Republicans believe in God like they say they do, COVID-19 is God's way of saying that you cannot ignore and continue to lie about the evil and immoral people and policies that Republicans have embraced no matter how stubbornly Republicans insist otherwise.

based on medical experts......more people would contract COVID19. But most of those ASKING to be tested NOW are ill ENOUGH to know they needed to be tested. More testing doesn't fill hospitals. Increase of "seriously ill people" are filling up hospitals.

11. This is the absolute worst case of "bothsiderism" and "gaslighting" I've ever seen

This is nothing but a moronic attempt to give the Covid taskforce cover.

At this crucial point, with hundreds of thousands of people dying, and hundreds of thousands more to come, the only acceptable thing for the taskforce to do is come out and say; "Americans are dying because the president is a fucking moron"!

Short of that, I have absolutely zero fucks to give about what they've said in private...none.

If they gave one shit about saving Americans, they would report the science and the data, regardless of what the Dipshit in the White House thinks or says.

Look, if you say that blue jeans may cause chafing, and the president says, no they don't... I don't give a fuck, because all your talking about is maybe a rash and some discomfort.

We aren't talking about blue jeans.

We're talking about the unnecessary suffering and death of hundreds of thousands of Americans. Deaths and suffering that could greatly be reduced if members of the taskforce had the integrity, courage and honor to simply say; "don't listen to the president... he's a moron"

Until they are ready to do that, I care about as much about what they have to say as I do about princess sparkle pony giving a commencement address.
