Trump 'pleaded' with China's president to buy US agricultural products to help him win the 2020 election, according to John Bolton's new book

Sonam Sheth 38 minutes ago

This story is breaking. Check back for updates.

President Donald Trump asked Chinese President Xi Jinping to buy agricultural products from the US to help Trump win states with large farming industries in the 2020 election.

That's according to an upcoming book by former national security adviser John Bolton, "In The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir."

Bolton writes that Trump was "pleading with Xi to ensure he'd win."

Republicans are all about projection!

Not even the first time we've heard about Don-Don groveling in private at the feet of the very people he plays tough guy against for the cameras.

"But the fact is we are both in a little bit of a political bind because I have to have Mexico pay for the wall, I have to.”
-- Trump to Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto on a January 27, 2017 phone call. (Narrator: "Nieto knew they were not both in a political bind." )

Trump is the master of blackmail. It is exactly how he got the nomination by threating that if he did not get the support of the Republican National Committee he would run as a an Independent. This was his method of operation as a testified to by his trusted attorney in which he stated that Trump would refuse to pay and then threaten the person who had provided services with a law suit. That is his trusted method of operation since he was a child. He is little more than a cheap two-bit gangster just like the thugs that operated shake down protection rackets. It isn't complicated at all. The latest example is the relocation of the nomination convention.

In his own twisted way he is a patriot and he clearly has decided he wants to take Trump out. Of course it doesn't hurt he's going to make millions doing it but at this point I'll take the help from any place we can get it.

He knew the impeachable crimes Trump had committed, but he played politics and stayed silent, while also putting his own future riches above the good of the country. Bolton might have made more money had he testified because some people will not buy his book because he refused.

"Had Democratic impeachment advocates not been so obsessed with their Ukraine blitzkrieg in 2019, had they taken the time to inquire more systematically about Trump's behavior across his entire foreign policy, the impeachment outcome might well have been different," he wrote.

1. tRump's conduct with Ukraine warranted removal from office on its own. The republicans in the Senate are cowards.

There's no way Congress could have forced things like this out without whistleblowing. That could have been Bolton, but he chose to withhold the story and write it later for money.
