NYPD officers get sick after drinking milkshakes, union claims intentional poisoning

NEW YORK CITY -- Three NYPD police officers are being treated at a hospital after they apparently fell ill after drinking milkshakes. The incident was reported at a Shake Shack restaurant on Broadway in Lower Manhattan on Monday evening. Police say the officers began to feel sick while still drinking the shakes.

They were transported to a local hospital and are all said to be stable. It's not yet clear what caused them to feel sick, but the Detectives' Endowment Association tweeted that the officers were "intentionally poisoned." The police union wrote that "a toxic substance, believed to be bleach, had been placed in their beverages." It was not discovered until they drank some of those beverages. The officers were being treated at the hospital and were expected to recover.

The PBA has since warned all of its members to carefully inspect any prepared food items they purchase while on duty.

"It's not yet clear what caused them to feel sick, but the Detectives' Endowment Association tweeted that the officers were "intentionally poisoned."

???

don't they need to have an investigation before they decide the cops were "intentionally poisoned?"

doesn't all this crap have to go up through a chain of command? shouldn't it be referred and looked over and weighted down with interviews of employees and other customers and possible videos from the restaurant as well as videos anyone else was taking? also, what had the three cops eaten or drank earlier? were they on some kind of drugs? and if so, where did they acquire them?

doesn't this sort of incident take a month or two to piss around with before they start making allegations and casting aspersions?

come on, three white guys follow a black kid in their trucks and shoot him in cold blood, and no one uses the M word or gets arrested for two months. now thee cops drink milkshakes and suddenly they were "intentionally poisoned"

and yet not

They need to show proof. It's a hoax until they show proof. They are just randomly accusing a chain of that without showing evidence or proof. I hope they get sued to hell and back.
