Trump campaign demands CNN apologize for poll that shows Biden leading

Source: CNN

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump's campaign is demanding CNN retract and apologize for a recent poll that showed him well behind presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

The demand, coming in the form of a cease and desist letter to CNN President Jeff Zucker, was immediately rejected by the network.

...snip...

"It's a stunt and a phony poll to cause voter suppression, stifle momentum and enthusiasm for the President, and present a false view generally of the actual support across America for the President," read the letter, signed by the Trump campaign's senior legal adviser Jenna Ellis and chief operating officer Michael Glassner.

The campaign formally requested that CNN retract the poll and publish a "full, fair, and conspicuous retraction, apology, and clarification to correct its misleading conclusions."

When I saw the story about this coward's tweet about Martin Gugino -- the protester in Buffalo who is just a year older than he is, but was seriously injured by two policemen -- my first thought was this tweet could be grounds for a libel suit. I'm sure his attorney is weighing that option. As well as demanding a retraction or apology.

Even if the lawsuit was unsuccessful, just filing it would wound the already battered and bruised ego of this coward. That alone makes it worth pursuing, in this layperson's opinion.

If he loses and it’s a clear case of loss, I don’t think Trump can do something like declare martial law over a lost election and get away with it. Some of his supporters might protest and try to start riots, but governors can call out the National Guard (at least Democratic governors, Republicans would let them riot because they’re white).

Trump will not remain until the end of his term. He can’t take the risk of staying to the end because Biden will not pardon him. He will need to resign by January 19 so Pence can be sworn in and pardon him for all federal crimes. Plus, that gets him out of suffering the humiliation of having to pose with the Bidens.

They will continue to pound this narrative, along with Fox n Friends in all RW media, pushing fake polls that ask a disproportional percent of Trump cultists loaded poll questions. "Do you support a free enterprise Capitalist system that Republicans represent, or a government run Socialist system that Democrats represent?"

And these alt polls to wave around gives them ammunition to their base to also reject balanced factual polling.

It will be useful to get their own base out to vote. But even if they lose, they can use to claim voter fraud!

Soon after the poll was released, Trump tweeted that he had hired Republican pollster McLaughlin & Associates to "analyze" the CNN poll and others, "which I felt were FAKE based on the incredible enthusiasm we are receiving." McLaughlin ranks as one of the least accurate pollsters in the industry, as measured by FiveThirtyEight.

His base lives in a myopic bubble and the purpose of this is two-fold: It reiterates that CNN is "fake news" and gives comfort to those who may be lead to believe he has little chance to win.

Keep in mind, it only takes a relatively small percentage of 2016 Trump voters to not vote in November for him to lose in a landslide. We know this because, in 2016, without the "inside straight", he would have lost by a wide margin anyway. So if only a few thousand people in a few States conclude they made a mistake and stay home, its not even a contest.

Lock him up.

Hey trumphumpers, why did you elect a moron to just sit on a pot and tweet 18 hours a day for $400,000 a year with fantastic taxpayer-ed benefits, hire his unqualified kids to big bucks positions then complain about poor people on welfare?

If you were to tweet a hundred times a day, probably shitting on a pot, then worry about a round of golf and get paid for all that, how long do you think you'd be employed?

Please tell us ( in your one syllable vernacular or less) what the Pee-resident's job is, what he's resposnible for and why he is suppoed to do.

Hell, I bet any one of you could do that for a lot less...couple squirrels (them's good eatin' I hear), maybe dead possum or other road kill, jug of home made corn or even minimum wage (no benefits, though).

Why you support him is beyond belief. He doesn't drive a pick 'em up truck, hates dawgs, doesn't bowl, doesn't drink (moonshine would probably kill him), never hunted, doesn't know how to use an outhouse, can't stand and never gets being dirty, hates country music, has all his teeth, knows the best words (even more than 25, sort of), can't tell the difference between a 457 and Daisy Red Rider (or Super Soaker for that matter).

On the other hand (the one grabbing for your honey's stuff), he does like young blonde females, other men's wives (and daughters), watching Chuck Norris type movies, has a mouth and lips just made to blow him a tune over a jug and people who are so dumb they vote for him.

Crayons and toilet paper for your replies are available in the mezzanine (just ask - someone will show you what that is).

If any of this is too demanding, just ask one of your home-schooled spawn for help - well, maybe not.

P.S. Don't forget to bring your own pencil to the voting booth and remember to press it hard next to his name (Help is available for reading and understanding impaired)
