25 cities across 16 states have now imposed curfews

Source: CNN

Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti has extended a curfew, which initially applied only to downtown, to the whole city.

The curfew requires everyone within the City of Los Angeles to stay indoors tonight, from 8 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.

“I will always protect Angelenos’ right to make their voices heard and we can lead the movement against racism without fear of violence or vandalism,” Garcetti said in a statement. “The vast majority of people taking to the streets are doing it peacefully, powerfully, and with reverence for the sacred cause they’re fighting for. This curfew is in place to protect their safety — and the safety of all who live and work in our city.”

At least 25 cities across 16 states have now imposed curfews.

No one ever obeys them. But police can justify doing very aggressive and nasty things with enforcing them as the excuse.

First time ever since I've been here since 1980.

Hubby was born here in 1958, it's a first for him.

and it costly. Let the insurance companies give the stores all their claims. They were trying to get out of rent/mortgage payments due to the pandemic anyway. So they pay this way.

Federal gov needs to start paying people. Everyone needs insurance, and they need to do right for labor. Up snap payments. Get some damn stress off of us.

Gated communities with one security officer , doesn’t make you safe.

We all knew, when this country allowed Trump the keys to the Oval Office that violence was coming.

they using an event to cover criminal acts or reinforce an ideology. Its a complete dishonor to the victims and the damage takes decades to recover from. This is a shameful moment once again.
