NEW YORK (AP) — Store owners with no-mask-no-service policies got a boost from the governor. New York City business owners planning to reopen before coronavirus restrictions are lifted got a warning from the mayor. Actors Rosie Perez and Chris Rock are promoting face coverings and virus testing.

Coronavirus-related developments in New York:

___

NO MASK, NO SERVICE

Store owners who require customers to wear face coverings will now be backed up by an executive order from Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

The promised executive order authorizing businesses to deny entry to people without face covering comes as outbreak-related restrictions on shops are beginning to loosen, though not yet in New York City.

It's just allowing them to do what they already can do if they want. It needs to be a law, and enforced on every indoor space.

It wouldn't make the virus go away, but it would certainly save lives.

No One allowed in without a mask.
Only 3 or 4 customers in the store at a time

Mgr said she has the right to refuse service.
I appreciated her decision.

Unless discriminating against a protected class, business can set their own policies. Masks are not included in the protected class laws.

Here in Central Florida Disney, Universal and Sea World have all announced dates an policies of reopening. All will require masks on all guests. At all times.

Trump and his minions can pound sand if they don’t like it.

I’ve read all kinds of post about how horrible it will be in Florida with a mask on in Summer. Guess what? It’s hotter in Shanghai and they all wear masks. Even the kids. I guess the Chinese people are cut from tougher cloth than trump followers.

On edit. I’ve read the on Disney sites. Not DU. We support mask as taking care of our fellow humans.

Like here in PA, stores have a "no mask-no entry" policy, *but* if you have some medical condition that precludes you from wearing it, "that's just fine and we won't ask for proof." Um, NO. If you're that compromised you shouldn't be out to begin with.

which means bars, restaurants, and salons can open (masks and social distancing?). While bars and restaurants can maintain social distancing, how do you propose to drink a beer or eat a cheeseburger while wearing a mask, outdoors or indoors? Simply not possible.

I live in Monroe County which just went to Phase Yellow today. While masks would work in supermarkets and retail, it won't in bars and restaurants.
