Pa. GOP lawmaker says he tested positive for COVID-19; Democrats demand more information

HARRISBURG — A Republican state lawmaker from Central Pennsylvania confirmed Wednesday that he tested positive for the coronavirus earlier this month, leading at least one of his House colleagues to self-quarantine.

The admission immediately ignited outrage among Democrats in the chamber who said they were recklessly left in the dark for nearly a week about the lawmaker’s condition.

State Rep. Andrew Lewis, R-Dauphin, said in a statement that he received a positive COVID-19 result on May 20 and immediately began self-isolation. He said he informed House officials after he received the result, and they have worked to identify anyone with whom he may have come into contact. Mr. Lewis said he was last in the Capitol on May 14.

1. To be clear...

Russ Diamond (R-Naturally) was the one who continued to go out in public - without a mask - after being told to self-isolate. He was not tested and has shown no symptoms. Andrew Lewis (R) was the one who tested positive, and he stated he began self-isolation immediately upon receiving the positive test result.

Not saying there's not an asshole in the mix, let's just point out the correct one.

Pennsylvania congressman's righteous rant about GOP colleagues who hid a member's Covid 19 infection

The GOP house leadership knew this member had tested positive and was self-quarantining with the exception of committee work with unknowing democratic colleagues. What's more, the republican-controlled committee was responsible for pushing the "fake crisis, reopen now!" agenda of the state GOP.

The democrat in this video, Brian Sims, donated a kidney to a friend earlier this year, and has now served daily alongside a GOP congressman who knew he was positive and hid, with the assistance of GOP leadership, that fact from democratic co-workers. While taking precautions for their own well-being, of course.
