Nearly 3 dozen who attended Arkansas church event test positive for coronavirus
Source: NBC
Nearly three dozen people who attended a recent children's event at a church in Arkansas have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to church officials.
Donald Shipp, a deacon at First Assembly of God church in Greers Ferry, about 75 miles north of Little Rock, told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that 34 people who attended the event in early March at the Cleburne County church had tested positive for the coronavirus, and that an unknown number of others were awaiting test results.
... snip ...
"Even though we were the original positives, there are people who have been sick longer than we have," he said. "It clearly made its way through a special weekend of childrens ministry at our church."
He requested that people pray for health care workers, and he advised that people "take this medical threat more seriously."
"Maybe you assumed that it couldnt happen to you, just like I did," he wrote. "Please adhere to the social instructions that you are receiving locally and nationally."

(99,909 posts)I've been following the religious right and how horrible they are for quite some time. There's no way they will claim responsibility for putting children in harms' way. They'll blame it on everyone else. These morons are definitely not "enlightened".

Religion can be tricky that way. If you do it wrong, you just make God mad.

(6,427 posts)Anyone who knowingly puts people at severe risk of death or seriously bodily harm like this like this pastor or Agent Orange with his daily delusional rantings isnt doing Gods work rather more like the AntiChrists. And, rendering unto Caesar, they are also guilty of reckless endangerment for those who become deathly ill and negligent homicide for those who die.

(36,360 posts)A man is stuck in a Flood and turns to God
As the flood waters rose, a man was on the porch of his house and prayed that God would save him from drowning in the flood. Just then, another man came by in a row boat. The man in the boat invited the other man to get in, and he'd save him. The man on the porch said, "No, thanks, I'm waiting for God to rescue me."
The water kept rising and the man had to go to the second floor of his house. As he looked out the window, he saw a man in a motor boat come by. The man in the boat invited him to get in because he had come to rescue him. The man in the house said, "No, thanks, I'm waiting for God to rescue me."
The waters kept on rising. Soon the man was forced to climb up onto his roof. A helicopter flew by, and a man inside lowered a rope and shouted down for the stranded man to climb up the rope.
But the man still wouldn't get in. He just said, "No, thanks, I'm waiting for God to rescue me."
Well, eventually, the flood waters rose above the house rooftop, and the man drowned. When he got to Heaven, he asked God why He didn't rescue him from drowning when he had had perfect faith.
"What more do you want from me?" asked God. "I sent you two boats and a helicopter."
