Nevada Governor Bars Malaria Drugs for Coronavirus Patients

The governor’s rule comes a day after a Phoenix-area man died and his wife was in critical condition from taking an additive used to clean fish tanks known as chloroquine phosphate, similar to the drug used to treat malaria.

What do the experts say?

Trump shouldn’t have been an idiot and those arizonans shouldn’t have sort of listened and taken something similar.

I have no idea but if the experts see value in trials in controlled setting to manage the dosages shouldn’t that be allowed? Can that be done and still keep snake oil salesmen and goobers from hurting people or themselves?

If there are enough trials going on then more aren’t needed and wait for enough data to be collected considering the urgency.

Again this is the type of guidance the feds should provide. Let states decide ultimately but what is seen as best practice right now? That’s what trump ought to be grilling the cdc on.

I would not volunteer for either of those and glad it can't be done at all.

Way too little to go on and you know damn well there is some $ angle behind
this push.

I understand Bayer in Germany had to send the FDA 3 million units to ensure it will have enough on hand for its testing against CV19.
