Trump swipes at resigned prosecutors, judge in Roger Stone case

Source: The Hill

BY BRETT SAMUELS - 02/11/20 10:10 PM EST

President Trump on Tuesday swiped at the prosecutors and judge in the case of longtime confidant Roger Stone amid the fallout of the Justice Department's decision to intervene in Stone's sentencing recommendation.

Trump weighed in on the sentencing late Tuesday even as Democrats and critics expressed alarm that the president seemed to be blurring the line between the executive branch and the Department of Justice (DOJ).

"Who are the four prosecutors (Mueller people?) who cut and ran after being exposed for recommending a ridiculous 9 year prison sentence to a man that got caught up in an investigation that was illegal, the Mueller Scam, and shouldn’t ever even have started? 13 Angry Democrats?" Trump tweeted.

All four prosecutors who worked on Stone's case resigned Tuesday after the DOJ asked a federal court to reduce the seven- to nine-year prison sentence they had originally recommended. One prosecutor, Aaron Zelinsky, worked on former special counsel Robert Mueller's team.

excessive sentences for those he dislikes? It's coming, you know it's coming, and not one republican will say a word about it. They're apparently alright with having a fascist dictator in the White House.

I believe he's still testing the new powers that the Republicans in the Senate gave him, when they handed him a crown and stood next to him as they all pissed on the US Constitution.

The time is coming when he will order Barr to arrest a critic or even a political rival...and by then it will be too late!!!

The executions he wants but don't happen will be carried out by high floor defenestrations, just like Putin.

when we take over the President and congress in 2021. When we take over we can now fire all of those he put in power.
We can now undo everything he has done, just like his attempt to cancel what Obama did.
Have faith my friends.

We're stuck with his Supreme Court thugs.

And, we need a majority in the Senate to get "sane" judges installed.

(wishing RBG another healthy year on the bench)

it assumes that we're still operating in an environment which somewhat resembles a democracy. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case because we're on the fast track to absolute fascism. The constant assaults on institutions that ensure our freedoms and the rule of law has evolved from extremely alarming to down right frightening. Individuals that should be protecting society from this plague are either enabling it by their silence or being abused for exposing it. Stay hopeful, but also plan for the worst case scenario.

This whole thing is corrupt, yes. The Executive is trying to have its way, yes.

But Amy Berman ain't takin' no shit from this president.

Getting "input" from lawyers is a courtesy and a norm.

But. SHE will decide the sentence.

the judge will excuse Stone's disrespect of the court.
She might not give him 7-9 years, and probably not accept the recent DOJ lower recommendation.

I'll bet he gets somewhere between 4-6 years. Probably 5 years.
Then Pendejo45 will execute a midnight pardon on Jan. 19, 2021 after being voted out of office.

because if they did they'd all be in jail. They were concerned on MSNBC last night about burying the entire Mueller Report evidence.
