Governors warn Trump rule could lead to big Medicaid cuts

Source: AP

By RICARDO ALONSO-ZALDIVAR

WASHINGTON (AP) — Governors of both major political parties are warning that a little-noticed regulation proposed by President Donald Trump’s administration could lead to big cuts in Medicaid, reducing access to health care for low-income Americans.

The arcane fiscal accountability rule proposed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, or CMS, would tighten federal oversight and approval over complex financing strategies states have long used to help pay for their share of the $600 billion program. Also targeted are certain payments to hospitals that treat many low-income patients. Public comments closed last week amid a chorus of criticism from hospitals, nursing homes, insurers, doctors, and advocates for the poor.

Against the backdrop of an election year, governors are warning the administration of potentially dire consequences.

“States may be unable to adequately fund their Medicaid programs, which could lead to unintended consequences that would negatively impact Medicaid beneficiaries across the country,” wrote Govs. Kate Brown, D-Ore., and Charlie Baker, R-Mass., in official comments on behalf of National Governors Association.

Now it's Medicaid, which already is heinous because it affects some of the most vulnerable and sick and people that are the least able to survive. If Russia Repugs steal the election with the help of their fave dictators, we know for damn sure he will cut to the bone our Social Security and Medicare. He plans to use us as a profit center for stealing everything and giving it to himself, the rich and dictators who bribe him everywhere.

We have to have a #BLUETSUNAMI to have any chance of overturning his efforts to disenfranchise everyone but his supporters.

Any discounted or free medical clinics are swamped. People brought into emergency rooms regularly check themselves out against doctor's orders because they can't afford the treatment.

Not kidding, everytime I've gone to a civilian ER or the ICU, there are at least 3 people refusing medical attention. Two years ago, I lived in hospitals because of a sick spouse. I saw it over and over again.

But some of these racist Nazis would rather die or go bankrupt then see someone different get help. Cut off their nose to spite their face. Idiots all of them.

They are of zero use to the human race.

As a relative who fought in WW2 once told me...the only good Nazi is a dead one.

Harsh, but true.

My father fought in WWII against the Nazis. He would have a fit if he saw them so proudly on display here in the US.

Every ideology that fuels racism and hatred, fails....eventually, guranteed. That's why the South LOST the civil war. That's why the KKK is laughed at. That's why the f*cking Nazis were defeated.

Germany has strict anti-Nazi laws. So, I say if you want to be a f*cking Nazi, go back to the country of origin and see how long you stay out of jail. Go back to Germany you sick Nazis piece of crap.
