Florida Congressman Files Ethics Complaint Over Ripped State of The Union Speech
Source: NBC6
A congressman from North Florida known as a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump has filed a formal complaint over the viral moment House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ripped her copy of his State of the Union speech.
NBC affiliate WFLA-TV reports that Rep. Matt Gaetz filed the ethics complaint, writing on Twitter late Wednesday night that nobody is above the law a jab at House Democrats who used a similar phrase during the impeachment trial against Trump.
Her conduct was beneath the dignity of the House, and a potential violation of law, Gaetz said. She must be held accountable.
Gatez said the action was deeply offensive and does not reflect the credibility of the House of Representatives.

Matt should have checked with NUnes cow before filing.

(5,727 posts)It's already been said but bears repeating:
No Republican gets to yammer at us about "dignity" ever again.
Let alone "violation of law."

(9,426 posts)would HE know about ETHICS? He has the morals of an alley cat, and the intelligence of a typical tRumpster. I think he should get a DNA test, he certainly qualifies as a tRump spawn. He is every bit as dumb as Uday and Qusay.

How is this any different?
Did Trump get a paper cut from it? No.
Should she have stuffed it down his lying throat? I'll leave that to the individual to decide.
I am sure, the thin skinners, are questioning their choice of religion over this.

While @RepMattGaetz
is at it, maybe he can file one against Trump for destroying the translators notes from Trumps meeting with Putin. Also, #MattGaetzIsATool

(397 posts)Matt Gaetz organized and led a group of 25 republicans into a congressional committee hearing. Many of them carried electronic devices which are completely forbidden in those rooms.
They delayed the hearings by five hours and disrupted witness testimony.
Once in the room, which had to be cleared, they ordered pizza.
Afterwards they bragged about it on tv.
And now Gaetz wants an investigation into the disposal of a photocopy of a speech.

(338 posts)Nancy can say with legal precision that Trump was impeached for life, but Kevin McCarthy can't likewise say Trump is "acquitted for life," because the House if so it chooses can impeach Trump again; and if that were to happen, there's no guarantee of another acquittal, so where's the "for life" part go? Right into the shredder.
acquitted does not mean "not guilty" and it certainly doesn't mean "innocent." They really should think about how little bragging rights they have. The republicans found that, yeah, he did do everything he was charged with, but they don't want to lose the power of that office, even if a psycho is sitting in it. Pussies.

(919 posts)Talk about conduct beneath the dignity of office. Gaetz is an idiot. And, even more so if he thinks Trump hasn't ripped away our system of checks and balances. He destroyed that part of the Constitution. We are currently an oligarchy.
