Navy SEALs call Eddie Gallagher 'toxic' and 'evil' in newly released video interviews

Source: ABC News

The Navy SEALs who served alongside Special Operations Chief Edward Gallagher described their platoon leader as "freaking evil" and "toxic," according to new video recordings conducted by criminal investigators obtained by the New York Times.

The recordings were part of the Navy's investigation into Gallagher, who was accused of war crimes during a 2017 deployment to Iraq, including the murder of an Islamic State teenager. While Gallagher was acquitted of the most serious charges earlier this year, his case has repeatedly garnered the attention of President Donald Trump who in November intervened in the Navy's own disciplinary process, allowing Gallagher to retain his Trident pin which identifies him as a member of the SEAL community.

The video recordings, as well as text messages sent between the SEALs, are part of a New York Times' documentary airing on Hulu that the Times says reveals the anguish and anger the members of SEAL Team 7 experienced when speaking about Gallagher's actions during their deployment.

"You could tell he was perfectly OK with killing anybody that was moving," Special Operator First Class Corey Scott, a medic in the platoon, told the investigators.

trumpie lives vicariously through people like Gallagher. Because he cannot actually kill people, he applauds and celebrates those who can and do. As we saw in the case of Jamal Khashoggi, he sees murder as negotiable. His blood lust is barely concealed. The only matter concerning him is who's getting killed and who's doing the killing. And he WOULD shoot someone on Fifth Avenue if he thought for one second that he could, indeed, get away with it. This reptile has NO MORAL compass.

What's going on with the SEAL who admitted killing the prisoner?

Even though he cannot be prosecuted, he is an admitted war criminal now.

is a MEDIC. He was in the process of attending the man's wounds when Gallagher pulled out his KBar and stabbed him multiple times in the throat. At that point, there was no saving the young man's life. IMO, the MEDIC put the prisoner out of his misery. Don't misunderstand, I'm not condoning what he did, but there was no way he could save the guy.

The question that trumpie should have been asking himself - and it is obvious the other SEALS did - is WHY Gallagher did what he did while the MEDIC was obviously trying to minister to the guy ? The man was lying prone of a gurney, unarmed and not making any movements. At that time, he was no threat to anyone. Gallagher is a rogue murderer, a creature of pure evil. This is not what SEALS do, and this is not who they are.

What troubles me is this -- how many other loose cannon psychopaths are out there and will now see this as acceptable ?

if he didn't testify at Gallagher's trial that he asphyxiated a wounded Islamic State fighter after Gallagher unexpectedly stabbed him.

"You could tell he was perfectly OK with killing anybody that was moving," Special Operator First Class Corey Scott, a medic in the platoon, told the investigators.
