House sets up Monday hearing to hear evidence on Trump impeachment

The House Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on Monday morning to receive presentations of evidence from investigators as it moves forward with crafting articles of impeachment against President Trump. he Thursday announcement came hours after Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) formally announced that the House is drafting articles of impeachment. It also comes the day after the House Judiciary Committee held a hearing with constitutional experts to discuss whether Trump's efforts to pressure the Ukrainian government to investigate his political opponents amounted to impeachable offenses.
Monday's hearing, which will start at 9 a.m., will feature presentations from staff counsels for both parties on the House Intelligence and Judiciary committees. "The facts are uncontested: the president abused his power for his own personal, political benefit at the expense of our national security, by withholding military aid and a crucial Oval Office meeting in exchange for an announcement of an investigation into his political rival," Pelosi said in her statement earlier Thursday.
With Democrats eyeing a vote on articles of impeachment before Christmas, the House Judiciary Committee could move as soon as later next week to send articles to the floor for consideration. Under the rules established for the impeachment inquiry, the president and his counsel will be invited to attend and observe the presentations. The president's counsel may also ask questions.
The White House declined to participate in this week's hearing, but did not rule out taking part in future ones. At Wednesday's hearing with the constitutional experts, Democrats gave the clearest sign yet that they are eyeing three possible articles of impeachment: abuse of power and bribery, obstruction of Congress and obstruction of justice.

)is that the Benghazi hearings weren't impeachment hearings so whatever they eventually dragged out to a final report was designed tp be a smear job but would not have anything actually meaningful attached to it. Whereas this is a formal impeachment, which is a whole other animal. And what makes it worse is that despite the media being trashed and abused and having credentials pulled by the current WH occupant, they have no love for liberals and will continue the "both sides" narrative. And just like they muddied the waters with the ACA, they have been hard at work muddying the waters with this impeachment process. 
But as a note - there is nothing stopping them from continuing to investigate, Benghazi-style, any other things because certainly the emoluments issue is a HUGE HUGE deal that they are still gathering evidence for (e.g., getting copies of those taxes), and one of the primary ones in charge of that is Maxine Waters. 
but wanted to emphasize that it's not just the RW media painting it as "boring". The rest of it is doing it too because many are too lazy to actually do some historical research rather than push back against some of the bullshit being promoted - like the obsession over "holding a formal vote to authorize the impeachment inquiry" and other nonsense. They never looked at the history (no such vote occurred with the Johnson impeachment). And since our politicians are unfortunately tied to "polls" and those "polls" reflect what responders have "heard" as the narrative (which has been manipulated by the RW loons and parroted by the rest of the MSM), then you get some of the hesitation from our representatives when it came to what is going on now.
Fortunately my own congressman has been all-in from before day one!

HOWEVER it needs to be done for historical purposes and it will leave a permanent mark no doubt. It'll be up to NY state to do their best for the remedy being sought. 
Some of the pundits have estimated that they might try to draft the articles and and get them voted out of committee to the floor for debate by Christmas so that a final vote can happen by the end of the year and the Senate trial (depending on the whims of Turtle) would start some time in January.
An issue that will get in the way is the Continuing Resolution for government funding that expires December 21st, so getting appropriations passed and signed becomes the perfect performance vehicle by the WH to try to scuttle the votes.
