Schiff Doesn't Rule Out More Hearings But Says Evidence To Impeach Is 'Overwhelming'

Source: TPM

“We don’t foreclose the possibility of more depositions, more hearings,” Schiff replied. “We are in the process of getting more documents all the time. So that investigative work is going to go on.”

But impeachment investigators aren’t going to let Trump and other administration officials hold up the process with their refusal to testify, the Democratic lawmaker added.

“We’re not willing to go down that road,” he continued. “And what’s more, the evidence is already overwhelming.”

And a lot of them only get their news filtered through Fox News and right-wing social media.

It might seem obvious to us (and it is) but it's difficult to convince people who don't see the evidence in the first place, intentionally or otherwise.

Too many Americans have shrugged when they heard that a sitting US President has asked a foreign leader to dig up dirt on his political opponents (never mind the quid pro quo business) and frankly don't care. Yes, it is worse than Watergate IMO but it will probably take something a whole lot more simpler and egregious for Donald Trump to be removed from office via impeachment.

My belief is yes, Trump will be impeached. The Senate will not convict. We go into 2020 with Trump as the opponent.

Has Speaker Nancy Pelosi set a date yet? Hopefully before Christmas?

The conspiracy should be 100% investigated, subpoenas enforced, otherwise it's a half ass effort....in my book.

more hearings. McConnell has already stated his intention to dismiss the charges when it comes to the senate, so we need to air every crime so he, and the GOP, can tie that anchor to their paty before tossing it over the side.

They should be dragging this out through into the new year. As new revelations come in.

Its not that they have to at this point, or shouldn't have to. The evidence is already overwhelming. That's not the point! But they should realize by now, that it will take mountains of criminal activity to break through the programming of his cult members. Even just to chip away and be assured we have enough independents, and never-Trumpers that will vote with us.

It has to be kept in the public eye. Why do I hear talk of a "narrow focus" and wrapping this up quickly?

Have these all been read into the Congressional Record?

What they said about the high principles of rule of law;
What they said about the president's obligation to turn over documents;
What they said about witnesses responding to subpoenas;

All of this exists on video, especially of Graham. I hope the Democrats are making the most of it.
It should be in the CR, and (when appropriate) in DNC ads on TV.
