The U.S. State Department has released thousands of pages of documents from a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requested by American Oversight. They are documents that Congress has demanded but the State Department refused to hand over, so American Oversight sued under the FOIA laws and was able to obtain the documents.

While American Oversight's website is down due to the traffic, they are available for download and review on Document Cloud.
According to Austin Evers, executive director of AO, the emails link Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Rudy Giuliani, but they also link President Donald Trump through his Oval Office assistant.

It's clear why Mike Pompeo has refused to release this information to Congress.

It reveals a clear paper trail from Rudy Giuliani to the Oval Office to Secretary Pompeo to facilitate Giuliani's smear campaign against a U.S. ambassador.

"The documents show a clear paper trail connecting not just Rudy Giuliani to Mike Pompeo but being connected by the Oval Office," said Evers in an MSNBC interview with Ali Velshi. "President Trump's personal assistant Madeleine Westinghouse serving as a conduit when Rudy Giuliani can't get through to Pompeo through, quote, regular channels. The president's personal assistant makes that connection happen. Based on the timing which is around March of this year it looks apparent this was a connection to ensure that Rudy Giuliani's smear campaign against a sitting U.S. ambassador made it to Mike Pompeo's desk. This is just the first set of disclosures American Oversight's litigation is going to expose."

State Department documents released are only the beginning group says

Congress has subpoenaed documents from the White House, State Department, Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and other agencies said to be involved in a conspiracy to create a fake scandal against former Vice President Joe Biden and his family, the former U.S. ambassador to the Ukraine, and the Ukraine government. "We have other lawsuits already pending and soon more to come that are going to focus on different aspects of this scandal from the OMB withholding aid to contacts later in time with Mike Pompeo and other senior officials," Evers said. "So, again, these are just the first disclosures, and for our first round to connect this scandal directly to the Oval Office is pretty significant."

The freedom of information act, and likely tell others not to release anything anymore to anyone and he'll put out the talking points to his minions to parrot this out to the public this is corrupt . The ruling people that refused to testify will have to testify and turnover all documents soon to be announced will also start his attacks on these judges rulings , and he'll target them as corrupt, and threaten them soon, and suggest they be replaced if he can do it. Has any evidence been destroyed? I think they have already done that, as trump has no respect for the law, and will do anything he knows is illegal to use for self protection, and reelection, and his lawlessness is quickly escalating the closer they get to exposing him, and his losses in court, and he losing his support as more turn on him now. An ethics group late Friday published nearly 100 pages of previously unreleased State Department documents that the group says shows “a clear paper trail” between President Donald Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo before a Ukraine ambassador was abruptly recalled.

The documents were published by American Oversight, which calls itself a non-partisan and nonprofit ethics watchdog and Freedom of Information Act litigator investigating the Trump administration.

They appear to show two calls between Giuliani and Pompeo in March, around a month before former Ukraine ambassador Marie Yovanovitch, an anti-corruption expert, was abruptly called back to the U.S. in April and then removed from the post.

David Hale, undersecretary of state for political affairs, testified on Wednesday that Pompeo and Giuliani spoke on the phone twice in late March.

The information released Friday "reveals a clear paper trail from Rudy Giuliani to the Oval Office to Secretary Pompeo to facilitate Giuliani's smear campaign against a U.S. ambassador," Austin Evers, executive director of American Oversight, said in a statement.......................................................
