Giuliani associate willing to tell Congress Nunes met with ex-Ukrainian official to get dirt

Source: CNN

(CNN)A lawyer for an indicted associate of Rudy Giuliani tells CNN that his client is willing to tell Congress about meetings the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee had in Vienna last year with a former Ukrainian prosecutor to discuss digging up dirt on Joe Biden. The attorney, Joseph A. Bondy, represents Lev Parnas, the recently indicted Soviet-born American who worked with Giuliani to push claims of Democratic corruption in Ukraine.

Bondy said that Parnas was told directly by the former Ukrainian official that he met last year in Vienna with Rep. Devin Nunes. "Mr. Parnas learned from former Ukrainian Prosecutor General Victor Shokin that Nunes had met with Shokin in Vienna last December," said Bondy. Shokin was ousted from his position in 2016 after pressure from Western leaders, including then-vice president Biden, over concerns that Shokin was not pursuing corruption cases.

Nunes is one of President Donald Trump's key allies in Congress and has emerged as a staunch defender of the President during the impeachment inquiry, which he has frequently labeled as a "circus." Nunes declined repeated requests for comment. Bondy tells CNN that his client and Nunes began communicating around the time of the Vienna trip. Parnas says he worked to put Nunes in touch with Ukrainians who could help Nunes dig up dirt on Biden and Democrats in Ukraine, according to Bondy. That information would likely be of great interest to House Democrats given its overlap with the current impeachment inquiry into President Trump, and could put Nunes in a difficult spot.

Bondy tells CNN his client is willing to comply with a Congressional subpoena for documents and testimony as part of the impeachment inquiry in a manner that would allow him to protect his Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination. Bondy suggested in a tweet on Friday that he was already speaking to House Intel though the committee declined to comment.

One-trick Devin. Looking rather bovine (no offense to real cows meant.)

Watch him read from script. Watch him pout when he's not applauded. Watch him listen to messages from his handlers while being the rankest minority member.

Other rings include some dude who only knows how to shout and a bunch of (r)epuglicon clowns.

All in all, money well spent - except for these piss-poor circus performers.

I would think that would problematic since he would need fbi/doj approval to testify. Barr would surely get in the way of that. If he testified without their ok he could be prosecuted since it would nullify his plea deal.

So I think it's a lot of posturing for now. And the house may just move to impeach without him. If he becomes available later, they may depose him. But barr is definitely a huge problem here.

This will force his recusal from the hearings, and shortly there after and his career.

Put this cow out to weedy, swampy, flea infested pastures.

CNN is reporting that parnas is in discussions with intel. Apparently he is fishing for an immunity deal of some kind.

But intel surely knew all of this a while ago; before this weeks hearings.

while Joe drives the getaway car.

It does not give Trump a pass for his crimes.

(Note to lurking Trumpers, this is hyperbole. The Bidens do not rob convenience stores anymore than Hillary runs a child sex ring out of the non-existent basement of a pizza parlor.)

And he has some explaining to do , under oath. Graham also since he announced starting an investigation on Biden needs to be called to testify his evidence he has to begin this investigation, his sources for it , and was it first hand source or hearsay, and was he instructed to start this investigation by trump. He needs to testify under oath since all witnesses said the opposite about corruption by the Bidens , so the House has every right to put him under oath to find out why he is doing this. The trial in the Senate also now needs to call him to testify, and along with Nunes. They both are promoting putin's talking points the Biden's were corrupt, like they did to Hillary, and that others , the Ukraine tampered with our elections, which trump and the GOP are promoting and projecting for putin.
