WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States on Tuesday ordered family members of U.S. government employees to leave Bolivia due to civil unrest in the South American country, the State Department said in a statement.
The department also warned American citizens against traveling to Bolivia and said the U.S. government had limited ability to provide emergency services after a disputed election sparked protests that led Evo Morales to resign as president and flee the country.

Since 2000, Bolivia has grown to be Latin America's 3rd largest natural gas producer (next to Mexico and Argentina).
But because of their modest domestic needs, Bolivia is by far the region's largest gas exporter (mostly to neighboring Argentina).
Bolivia also has colossal lithium reserves - as yet mostly untapped.
Morales nationalized many of these resources, and in the case of lithium had plans to industrialize the resource (rather than merely exporting the raw product).
He also revitalized YPFB (their state energy firm) - which Big Awl wants privatized, and at fire sale prices.
