Paul Ryan urges House colleagues to remain optimistic about election
Source: Washington Post
Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan went to Capitol Hill on Thursday to urge his House colleagues to remain optimistic about the GOPs chances in November, amid eroding poll numbers and growing anxiety among some activists about the partys prospects.
Participants in the closed-door meeting described a brief, upbeat address that focused on defining the race as a close contest between two distinct visions for the country.
This is going to be an up and down race, Ryan, a congressman from Wisconsin, said during an appearance at the last scheduled weekly meeting of House Republicans before Election Day, according to multiple people in the room.
He urged colleagues not to allow Democrats to distract them in the races final weeks.

(35,392 posts)(if Mitt loses).
They'll keep enough in the Senate that they can filibuster everything Obama puts forth ... and the "liberally-biased media" will conveniently forget the party of the "nuclear option" wearing out the button on the filibuster submitter.
Unless the Dems lose the Senate ... then "nuclear option" will be the word of the century ...

(2,335 posts)Harry Reid probably does not have the stones to get rid of the filibuster completely. He should. But even he has stated that significant reform is in order. Right now as things stand the Senate is incapable of taking action.................on anything.
