'Why so many?' Trump groans as White House officials testify against him one after another

President Donald Trump on Tuesday bitterly complained about officials from his own administration who have been testifying against him on Capitol Hill.
In an angry tweet published just ahead of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindmans testimony in the House impeachment inquiry, Trump bemoaned the fact that so many government officials have been cooperating with the probe.
How many more Never Trumpers will be allowed to testify about a perfectly appropriate phone call when all anyone has to do is READ THE TRANSCRIPT! the president wrote. I knew people were listening in on the call (why would I say something inappropriate?), which was fine with me, but why so many?......................................

(9,969 posts)Thats what happens when you act like a mob boss in the White House but are too stupid to know that not everyone around you is part of your personal mafia. Some people actually care about this country and do not want to see you destroy it.

(16,783 posts)Going to jail for the rest of your life just does not sound all that appealing right now.
Amb. Taylor, Yovanavich, Fiona Hill, Laura Cook, and others are putting Country and National Security before anything else. They are not succumbing to threats by Trump or Barr.
Rudy Giuliani, Mick Mulvaney, Bill Barr are in deep shit over this. The arrests of Rudy's 2 idiots helps matters regarding impeaching Donald Trump. The trial in the Senate on the Articles of Impeachment that the US House sends over will put ALL Senate Republicans on notice . Democrats running for both Houses of Congress are paying attention to who undyingly support Donald Trump despite compelling evidence that will come out in the open.

(33,290 posts)Jesus, it's highly unlikely anyone is going to jail over this, period.
I know you want Justice, but how would a life sentence work? For what? Who's prosecuting? What's the charge?
Stop the hyperbole; reality is bad enough.

Trump is like a kid who thinks his assertion of "not it!" is somehow binding upon his playmates. He says he didn't do anything wrong, so why don't we all just agree that that is true?

Oh and there is a reason that some people are "Never Trumpers", but that has nothing to do with the truth. Not all that are testifying are "Never Trumpers" by the way, but your behavior is sure to give them cause.

(33,643 posts)He seeks to give the casual listener (someone with the news on but going about their day for example) the impression that it's the words of someone else, rather than him.
Compare hearing a newscaster say "Trump has been totally exonerated!" vs. "I have been totally exonerated!".
The first one comes off sounding like 'a fact' whereas the second comes off sounding like 'a claim'.
He only does it when the message is something that will make him sound good.

(2,584 posts)I guess Trump doesn't realize the offices don't take the oath when they receive their commission. They take a oath
to the constitution.
I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God
