Government staffers instructed not to renew newspaper subscriptions after Trump complained about unfair coverage. The White House has instructed federal agencies not to renew subscriptions for the New York Times and the Washington Post, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Days after Donald Trump mused about cancelling White House subscriptions for the two newspapers in a Fox News interview, his administration is now reportedly advising federal agencies to do the same.
Not renewing subscriptions across all federal agencies will be a significant cost saving hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars will be saved, the White House press secretary, Stephanie Grisham, said in an email on Thursday, the Journal reported.

(15,805 posts)are writing about him, he won't have anyone to attack and claim he's such a victim. He's going to have his own private stash of banned newspapers because the reporters drive him crazy and he is so petty he has to respond.
He can't resist an opportunity to bash his favorite fake news sources. Everyone else will get their subscriptions cut, but never Trump.

(25,305 posts)He's trying to prevent military personnel etc from receiving the information free of charge. Personnel will no longer be able to go a base library and read the Post or NYT.
