Giuliani says he won't comply with a congressional subpoena
Source: ABC
President Donald's Trumps personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani told ABC News on Tuesday he is not complying with a congressional subpoena.
Giuliani tells ABC News if they enforce it then we will see what happens.
Giuliani went on to tell ABC News he is no longer retaining the services of Jon Sale, who was acting as his attorney for this matter. Giuliani says that if Congress seeks to enforce a subpoena then he will retain counsel.

His lawyer probably told him that he would be out if Rudy was going to blow off any subpoena.

(16,616 posts)Giuliani is really playing with fire now: no lawyer, still doing interviews, snubbing subpoenas. He could face arrest on multiple fronts--SDNY and Congress.

(269 posts)In the latest episode, they do a bio of Giuliani -- starting with his appointment to SDNY. Biggest point that was made, was that it was BIDEN who stuck a pin in Rudy's 2008 Presidential run. JOE was the one who said in a speech about Rudy, -- "Every sentence he says has a noun, verb, and 9/11 in it". Rudy's bid immediately deflated. The show also made a point of saying that Rudy NEVER forgets a slight. So there you have it -- why Rudy has a hard on for Joe.

(CNN) Rudy Giuliani is parting ways with the personal attorney who has represented him in matters related to the impeachment inquiry. Giuliani told CNN Tuesday that his current attorney, Jon Sale, will stop representing the former New York City mayor shortly.
Sale had been working for Giuliani after the House of Representatives subpoenaed Giuliani for documents related to the ongoing impeachment inquiry. The deadline for his response to the congressional subpoena is Tuesday. "Jon was helping me with assessing (the) congressional request. He will submit his letter and he will be finished with what I asked him to do," Giuliani said. Sale did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
People close to Giuliani are advising him to hire a criminal lawyer as questions linger about his connections to two of his associates, Lev Parnas and Igor Furman, who were indicted last week for campaign-finance violations. Giuliani, who is President Donald Trump's personal attorney, has been resisting that advice, according to those people. Giuliani did not directly answer whether he was looking to hire a new attorney for himself. "If they take me to court I would then have to get another lawyer," he told CNN.
Taking on a criminal attorney would likely cost Giuliani something close to $1 million, according to people in New York legal circles. That could be difficult for Giuliani, who admitted earlier this year that he had to take a $100,000 loan from another of Trump's lawyers Marc Mukasey as a result of his ongoing divorce proceedings, according to a report from Bloomberg.
